Real Madrid need I say more :) They are full of stars yet they haven't dominated the football world like you would think they would have.

Barcelona has also other great players like Eto'o, Larsson, Deco, Messi, Xavi, e.g. It's not all about Ronaldinho.

The reason Ronaldinho is dangerous is because nobody wants to attack Bar?a. You can't sit back and try to defend them, you need to take their game and shove it back at them. If a team is able to play good attacking football, they WILL beat Barcelona.

Look out for Valencia next year. David Villa (an Asturian!) is a baller! :)

Totally. He scored a hat-trick in 4 minutes on Saturday.

Yep, thats true.

Real Madrid and Chelsea have too many star players though, which is the main reason for success although they can do better.

I voted Liverpool although I support Man U (obviously). I think they can win next year quite easily.

Exactlly.
Think about in cricketing terms. The World XI.
Would you not say they were a team full of stars? Yet they failed to even win a game against Australia.
In any team sport it is how well you play as a team, not a few individuals.

For any Australian's here. Sydney won the AFL premiership and you can't tell me that they have a lot of great players in their side. The only player i would consider a superstar would be Barry Hall.

Now that Zidane announced his retirement (:(), Madrid can FINALLY get back to their roots. They need to invest more in young, Spanish talent (like Sergio Ramos :)) and play as a team. They need to keep some of their stars, but they HAVE to clean house. I dunno, bring in Villa, Joaqu?n, and some defenders. The thing is, like Ra?l and Casillas, they need to play for the team and not themselves.

BTW, Chelsea is headed the "Gal?cticos" way with Ballack. Its all about the TEAM boys!

YAY! 100th post! :happy :cheers

Makelele will most likely retire at the end of next season, or if all goes well at Euro 2008. Till then if Ballack comes in Chelsea should play a 4-4-2, and loan SWP to a competitive team in the EPL.

I don't think Real should buy Joaquin, I've never really been a fan of him, to me he seems to be like a clone of Cristiano Ronaldo/Joe Cole - always attempting tricks. I think Real made a huge mistake in allowing Xabi Alonso to go to Liverpool, had he gone to Madrid he would've been their new Makelele. I think they should get rid of Ronaldo, get Villa(or Luca Toni who's been outstanding in the Serie A), and then get some quality defenders. Woodgate has been the biggest flop ever. Diego Milito of Real Zaragoza is excellent, as is Nigel de Jong of Ajax. Their backup players aren't very strong. People like Raul Bravo and Mejia just dont cut it at the top level. Hopefully Robinho finds his footing soon. Baptista must improve, he's nowhere near the level he was at Sevilla. Ramos has been a tad disappointing too, but he's only 19, and he's a team player, will improve soon.
