Features you want to see in next iteration of Big Ant Cricket

It would be nice to have an option to re-map the "leave ball" button to the RS button as it was before. I find it easier to do that than to move my thumb and press the 'A' button to leave the ball.

Personal preferences for batting
:pst: Standard ground stroke - ideal for scoring singles and doubles
:psc: Defensive strokes
:psx: Lofted shots - ideal for clearing the infield
:pss: duck /leave
Left bottom trigger for aggressive shots.
So to hit a six you'll have to press both left bottom trigger + :psx:

This controller configuration will definitely assist playing on Veteran mode and upwards. The current configuration is to complex for me with having to press multiple buttons just to score a single run.

Career mode : After achieving captaincy in a squad - the ability to select my own XI and possibly adding /signing new players almost like a being a manager within career mode .Which is realistic for a captain to be able to influence the selection of players etc. Like a virtual Shahid Afridi, lol
Lastly a comprehensive online leader board for various platforms - where official records can be set and broken.

The batting can very complex at times especially if your facing fast bowlers at veteran or above difficulty, i think what plotinus is saying about the rs is correct, because you can't use that and buttons at the same time, unless you input the buttons before the shot I imagine... Well unless you had two thumbs on the one hand..jokes. But don't get me wrong I would like a button system for batting, even just as a alternative to the original batting scheme. Anyway I reckon that the button press system would have to incorporate the timing and footwork into one button.
Example
X is front foot
Square is back foot
Triangle is back foot aggressive
Circle is front foot aggressive
Ls shot direction
All other buttons would be for just getting fancy.

Basically when balls bowled you make the decision when you want to hit it and where while also choosing the footwork at the same time, alas not even using rs during the shot.

And to your captaincy idea I think that would be brilliant especially the signing players

The common-sense solution for this is for "no input" to be an automatic leave.
No input is already an automatic leave - though the deliberate leave should be a safer shot, and that requires an input.

I'd talk more about it, but I've got some cleaning to get back to.

These were my results with leave remapped as a shoulder button last year

Leave Scoop Sweep - Don Bradman Cricket 14 Forum on PlanetCricket Forums

Hope this gets looked into, as much as i like sweeps i found having leave for shoulder buttons got the best results to have that test feeling and play long innings! The feel you get in leaving of being in absolute control of the game is un matchable!

May be reconfigure sweep scoop to a different button, since those two are the most premeditated shots i have found not much difficulty in playing them with buttons or may be change them to a rb lb combo!

LB for leave just about feel good!

For me leave is a very important part of test batting to feel real!

Hey matt when ya finished cleaning....just out of curiosity, could you explain how an inputted leave can be a safer shot then a leave without input? There both leaves in my book...
Its ultimately what delivery you choose to leave is how safe it is, having a button to push for leaving could possibly lead to a wrong button being pushed and therefore being less safe imo... Sorry not trying to sound like smart ass

I've seen better leaves on weeds!

A deliberate leave means the batsman will have time to try to move their body out of the way of the ball. Leaving the ball by simply never playing a shot means the timing window for getting out of the way of the ball is gone - so the ball is more likely to hit the batsman, potentially hitting the glove/bat on the way through if you're unlucky enough.

The other thing is the leaves have to be an one button affair, as in i tap the leave button which ever it is going to be the best leave animation has to playout like duck for bouncer extra you can duck even if you are on front foot or sway away instead , leave has to be context sensitive even when taking input from user!

the fact is like in the above video if im looking from it actually adding to gameplay and help me in game, it has to be such that im able to tap it at a flash!

Say im on front foot looking to pick deliveries over pitched or on leg, so just tapping a button lb or rb is all i will be bale to do without actively thinking more on how to leave a ball!
I shoudlnt be made to think more than a tap for leaving the ball!

This is an example for the leaves not being context sensitive with respect to ball position!

It would be ok if the ball comes in as you are swayign awy and takes a nick, but here its the opposite a bit!

Also even the batsman hasn't offered input would like some sort of leave animation though ones that arent particularly effective to play out unless against really fast bowlers, where you can afford to look like garry ballance holding a still bat not offering a shot and getting bold!

Hahaha that's brilliant mate,it really really amazes me how many cool little things like this are in the game!

I would really like to see more variations for bats in DBC17. Bats like Spartan and SS TON are known to be very thick and are used by more of the power hiters like Chris Gayle, Keiron Pollard, MS Dohni And the new member Andre Russell while bats like reebok and adidas are more slimmer and are used by more stroke Players and are good for timing. they also have different hit zones with the thicker bats having a larger hit zone. Top 10 Best Cricket Bats in the World 2016 this website gives a good insight as to what im talking about. I also would like to see more variety in the batting grip patterns and batting gloves.

On a slightly unrelated note, does anyone know if there will be managerial aspect to the new game (i.e similar to Cricket Captain, Football Manager). I love playing manager sometimes rather than playing a whole game.

Sorry if this has previously been discussed.
