FOOTBALL Fifa 12 - console and PC!

I tried FIFA on a mate's PC, it was absolutely horrific... Haven't seen much worse recently, even worse than the console version.

Which version did you try? Of course, you're entitled to your opinion, but for me Fifa 11 PC is the opposite to 'horrific'.

FIFA 11. I found it unplayable. Gameplay worse than console with crappy PC controls. Graphics are nice though.

You should've used an Xbox 360 pad. ;) I also find it unplayable with the keyboard, or a substandard PC pad.

Yeah. But then, with an Xbox controller, I don't see how it's that different to the Xbox version of the game.

I hate the Xbox controller as well, one of the main reasons I don't have an Xbox.

Regardless, the gameplay just isn't there yet. Maybe FIFA 12 can step it up, but until then, it looks like this game is more for the casual audience, not hardcore football fans.

Apparently, the PC version of Fifa 11 was a Fifa 10 console port - and having played Fifa 10 console a bit, I agree with that. Fifa 11 on console feels 'sharper' somehow - there are subtle differences between console and PC. This year, Fifa 12 could finally be the same on all three platforms.

What did you use to play the game on PC then? Fair enough not liking the Xbox pad - it isn't for everyone and the stick layout is a bit strange, granted.

I used the keyboard controls. They were so bad that I stopped after a game. I barely understood how to use the controls.

Between FIFA 11 and FIFA 10, I don't see any differences whatsoever other than the be a goalkeeper, which happens to be incredibly fun.

I'm not trying to hate on FIFA, but I'm sick of this sell millions of units when it is far from the optimum football sim, it could get better but it isn't moving forward in leaps and bounds. It's fun now and then, but as the definitive football game that you spend months playing, I don't think so. Plus the point of bringing this up is to show the fact that PC vs console FIFA isn't very different. Other people will prefer PC, but it dosen't make much of a difference in the end.

Euuuuch, I cannot stand the keyboard in Fifa games! The keyboard has its place: FPS and RTS games along with the mouse, but everywhere else is the domain of the gamepad!

There isn't a huge amount of difference in Fifa 11 PC vs Fifa 11 console - there are subtle differences, but if the PC doesn't get the full Fifa 12 game, it'll be left miles behind again - there are features in Fifa 12 that sound like gamechangers - on paper of course, we won't know for sure until we get that demo. However, the grapevine is buzzing with rumours that the PC gets parity finally this year, so we'll see...

you think so not the world BTW is FIFA 12 PC features are announced...:D

FIFA games always looks promising before the release when they announce tons of new features.
I've found the Xbox Controller very comfortable. The left thumb stick is placed with some thinking. In PS2 controller you have to stretch your left thumb to control the left analog stick. But in Xbox controller it is exactly beneath the thumb when you grab the controller. It helps in long gaming sessions. I guess you grew up playing too much PS2 :p
I found it strange too at first but now i'm so adjusted to it that i found PS2 controller strange. The lack of weight is the first thing i notice.

July. We don't know when in July, but I think it'll be split into snippets throughout July. :)

In some ways it is different for PC players, because we've been so used to getting recycled PS2 ports for six years that getting exactly the same game as the consoles would be a major event - if that indeed is what happens. All will be revealed in July, but our 'men on the inside' seem pretty confident. :D :spy

Getting a game which is on par with consoles would be great. Its about time EA stops treating PC gamers like second class citizens. Thats why i love it whenever a PC exclusive game releases (Read: Witcher 2):D

So do I. We've had some people at TW Center moaning about when the TW games will be made on consoles and I've had a little bit of smug satisfaction saying to them:

'If you wanna play TW, get a decent PC'.

So yeah, it would be super if we finally get the same game as the consoles and it should also ensure the same is true with future games - at least until the new consoles come out and we're stuck with recycled Fifa 12 clones for six years. ;)

Battlefield 3 of course is going to have the PC as its lead platform - the devs are going to make it for PC and then 'fiddle with it' to make it 'fit' on consoles. Ha ha ha ha!!

I wish they don't dumb down the BF3 just for the sake of console gamers(No offense :P). And there should be no compromise on graphics too. Crysis 2 graphics were toned down just for the sake of consoles. IMO Crysis Warhead looks better than Crysis 2.

Why can't a massive company like EA assign a separate team for PC version of FIFA. They don't have excuse that FIFA is not profitable. Gaming companies have to realize that future of gaming is PC. you. With console you are stuck with same mediocre graphics for next 5 or 10 years while in the same time, PC gaming goes from good to pure awesomeness. ;)
