FOOTBALL Fifa 13 PC and Consoles

----, yes, it's definitely that, switched right from UT to FIFA 13 demo, makes sense. And don't even get me started on the AI, contain, contain and more contain, I think had 3 shots blocked back to back by the same defender the other day.

Yep, I find it tough to get a single unblocked shot in a whole match at times.

Surprising to see how people can deal with the AI for so long and still enjoy the game.

Nah I'm on PS3. There's nothing to make the game any different other than less bugs and graphics if anything on the PC. Everyone will have their own opinions on the changes to the game.

For me I don't notice first touch since anyway I've always never held the sprint button down while receiving a pass. I already felt there was some level of first touch system in FIFA 12 which is why I did it.

Oh and the AI is soooo boring to play against.

That's not strictly true: in console Fifa 12, there were some really bad IE problems - players flying across the pitch and stuff like that. In the PC version, sure there were too many off the ball incidents, and 'Ric Flair' moments, but in a whole year of playing, I didn't see one flying player. That leads me to deduce that the IE had less faults on the PC, so it's just as possible the PC version could have subtle differences to the console version this year. :)

Yeah, I will give you that - the AI does block too many shots. Perhaps that can be fiddled with via the sliders, or maybe it's toned down in the full game; people who have played the beta (newer than the demo, but not final build) are saying they're in love with it, whereas they didn't like the demo at all.

Tried the demo out, and it's really good I like it alot. It's much harder to score now. Probably going to get the game at boxing day :spy

Ha ha! Sod that - as soon as my Nectar Amazon voucher comes through, I'm pre ordering this bad boy!

Yeah but you're obviously on commission. Seriously, who but a salesman says: "The demo was crap but just buy it and hope (for no reason at all) that it's better than the demo". :spy

Wonder the same, I haven't touched the demo since Tuesday.

That's really just bugs to do with coding, the best you can hope for is better coding on the PC version. I'm pretty sure it's not the lead development platform anyway, 360 most likely is.

The guys that played the beta didn't like the demo since they had to play against the AI and not human opponents. They have acknowledged that the demo is a later build as well.

A lot of those guys that played the beta are UT players as well, pretty much all of them.

The AI blocking too many shots was a problem in FIFA 12 as well, now though they added a lot more animations so they block even more. It has always been a problem, trying to get in longshots is too difficult a lot of the time as you know it'll be blocked.

What was fifa12 like online last year?

Its the first fifa i didn't buy for a while, so assuming it 13 will be similar online as 12,

Hope it won't be all your online opponents choosing Barca or Real Madrid again, that really pisses me off. :mad:mad

FIFA 12 online was pretty good, mainly since it had the head to head seasons and the tactical defending.

If you choose a 5* team don't expect to play anyone other than Real, Barca and Man Utd. You may get a Bayern if you're lucky too.

That's why I get put off, to many people literally giving the ball to Messi or Ronaldo and trying to dribble round the whole team,, gets very very repetitive

Yeah I've never liked H2H, that reason being one of them. There's a lot of ragequitting in H2H as well, so you have to be scared of going ahead by more than two goals as the other guy will most likely quit. The people that play it have no concept of fun as well and don't seem interested in scoring any goals other than sweaty goals, finesses, chips and tap-ins, and as you say, the most common strategy is to take the ball on the counter attack and pace it up the pitch with a faster player.

The pacing up the wings in H2H will be far less effective now in FIFA 13 though, with the new dribbling and the first touch controls, so that's one thing that'll make the mode slightly better. Also finesses I hear are useless (haven't tried one yet as the button for finesse isn't working on my controller). The rest of the bs will remain.

Only played about ten H2H games in FIFA 12 whereas I easily played upwards of 700 UT games.

Clubs I think it's called (where you play an online match as one player with 21 other guys) is a really, really fun mode to play though, after UT I would say it is the best mode. Worth trying if you haven't played it. Much better than offline BAP. I think it was new with FIFA 12 so you probably haven't played it. It's been improved a lot I hear.

Anyone on PS3 interested in making a PC club? Would work fine with just four or five other guys though it would be better with over 11 guys. Great fun if we all have mics.

Hmmm...... I'd be interested if I get FIFA 13.:D

Commission? I wish!

No, I'm speaking my mind mate. When I first picked up the demo, I liked it but the speed rapidly got on my nerves, so I resorted to some slider tweaks and now with slower and more realistic speed, I love it.

Mate, I more or less singled out one beta player for an interrogation the Gestapo would've been proud of. ;) He said that the beta is newer than the demo, and it's superior in every way both vs the AI and humans. ;)

There are many reasons I prefer offline - that is just one of them. ;)

I play FIFA mostly to get away from COD, so yeah, the BS in FIFA never really gets to me. :p

If all you play is FIFA, I wouldn't even get a new controller if I were you, it's that bad.

Obviously this won't help for online, but if you turn down the CPU's marking slider a little, that helps with the blocked shots. Also, I find that increasing their pass error a little makes things more realistic on the higher difficulty levels as well. :)
