so how does the pitch thing work? what pitch do i use to start off?

Try not to use the damp pitches.
Apart from that you can use whichever one you want.
Preferably green.

I think the pitch should be one characteristic of that ground, as I said earlier it would be something like this:

GABBA (Brisbane): Green
Adelaide Oval: Normal
WACA (Perth): Hard (or Dry, not sure which, probably Hard)
Melbourne Cricket Ground: Normal
Sydney Cricket Ground: Dusty
Bellerive Oval (Hobart): Not sure, anyone know?

What about certain lineups that the other player might want. Shouldnt that come into account?

It should but thaT should'nt make a big difference right now.
Also,there is no editor whihc we can use to create a particular line-up.
So,just use the default one.
