don't know if you'll be able to get him for a BSP team but a good player for lower teams is Henk Vos. Although he's 40 at the beggining of the game he's got pretty good stats and would probably be fairly useful for a BSP, league 2 and league 1 team in the short term to possibly gain promotion. Signed him for Leeds in my current game and he plays pretty well for me but needs subbing as stamina and fitness aren't great. try him out.

Too late for me because im in year 2009. I resigned(again:p) to get a job with Salisbury and they were coming 18th(before I joined) and we went on this really long unbeaten streak and were 8th and very close to play off position but atm we seen to be dominated teams without finishing them off so now we are 10th and 37 games in. :(

i was liverpool on 09 and i won 8-0 against someone in a friendly i cant remember who but i know torres scored a hatrick so did gerrard aurelio with a freekick and skrtel of a corner

After a bit of a break from FM I've finally got back to playing. Decided to continue my Wolves game on FM 08. After a strange season in 08/09 (Having a horrid second season at Aston Villa before joining Wolves, almost gaining them promotion after being near relegation when I took over) It's now time to mount a serious title challenge. There's been some major changes, including the sale of arguably my best player, Freddy Eastwood. I had to let him go really after he demanded a transfer. No point keeping him if he's going to be unhappy and play like crap because of it.

Here are my ins and outs so far:

IN: Dexter Blackstock (?2.8mil from QPR) & Tamas Priskin (?3.4mil from Cardiff)
OUT: Matt Jarvis (?450k to Sheff Wed), Jamie White (?500k to M'boro), Martin Riley (Free), Freddy Eastwood (?3.7mil to Sheff Utd) & Kerrea Gilbert (?120k to Leicester).

As you can tell I lost some big attacking players (Eastwood, White and Jarvis) and so I'm very pleased to have signed Priskin and Blackstock. I also thought I'd be losing Stephen Elliot as well, but he turned down contracts. Tried to sign Tamas Vasko from Bristol City, but I was too late, Forest snapping him up. Wes Morgan wouldn't come, nor Frederico Macheda from Man U. Not got many first team players, so will be looking to sign one or two more players before the end of the transfer window.

Only had the one friendly, a 4-1 win over Hereford. Blackstock got 2, Priskin 1 and Davies 1. Got a good feeling about this season.

Just signed Michael Turner from Hull for ?950k and Dickson Etuhu from Sunderland for ?210k. That's my transfer dealings done for now.

Have decided to start playing again on my 06' version. Started unemployed and Bury then took a job with Bury. I've got no transfer money and and in debt though thankfully the club doesn't mind that much. We've only won 2 from 6 in League 2, but it hard to get results when players are tired or lacking match fitness.

Does anyone else find that it is hard to manage lower club teams because their fitness levels are really low and you don't normally have a whole squad of fit players?

Been playing 08 again recently. Got my Liverpool game going again, coming 4th with 29 points (9 wins, 2 draws, 2 losses) I have equal first defence because I won like my first 4 games 1-0 :p. Currently 6 points behind Man United who are first.

Trev, your 2 buys seem to be going alright bagging you 3 goals in there first match for you!

I'm currently managing Singaporean side Sengkang on FM08 and just won the Singapore Cup 9-8 on penalties. Wasn't good for my health.

Now I've just got to try and keep my best player Farid Stini who played every single minute in the season. Doubtful though, scouts have been at my last few games and we're in debt so the chairman'll accept any money that flies his way.

Well unfortunately Priskin came with a 2 match ban, so couldn't play him in my first league game nor my league cup match.

After my 1 friendly I took on Ipswich in the first game of the season. Didn't know what to expect, but despite dominating we went behind. We continued to dominate and Andy Keogh levelled. They came out at half time and destroyed us. Luckily though they couldn't find the net. We took hold of the game late on but equally couldn't score.

Then came a League Cup tie with Rotherham. Andy Keogh put us 2-0 up after only 9 minutes, but the turning point came after he ahd a third disallowed for offside. They equallised, before my new signing, Michael Turner, got a straight red for a professional foul. They then levelled before taking the lead in the second half. Keogh to the rescue! He bagged his third goal in the dying minutes to send it to extra time. Yet again they score, which means all out attack once again. We dominate, but can't find the net. Deep into extra time injury time Keogh is sent one-on-one with the keeper and I'm thinking 'Right, this is going to peno's'. Wrong. He smashes it into the post. Then an almighty scramble occurs and somehow they clear two shots off the line and out for a corner. Harshly the ref blows before the corner is taken and we lose 4-3.

Next game: A must win game with Colchester to get our season off and running. Keogh again the man, scoring early. Ward then made it 2-0 with a header, and we ended up winning 3-0 (Think Davies scored the 3rd). Despite this we had a man sent off. Guess who!? My other latest signing, Dickson Etuhu for a two footed challenge. Unbelievable. After just 3 games both of them have already been sent off.

Did you have a heart attack whilst watching the game you posted about in the middle!?! Damn that Keogh seems to be a gun.

Tip for anyone who uses Liverpool - Nemeth is a gun. His stats arent that great but I had Torres injured, so I start him in an important Champions league game and he scores the equaliser in the 88th minute to save me, what a debut goal. Next game I have Wigan, he scores the opener 3 minutes in. The game after against Manchester United in the League cup quarter finals we go 1-0 up after 1 minute at Old Trafford and guess who - NEMETH! Man United dominated so much, nearly all of the time between the 10th minute and half time was Manchester United nearly scoring or getting corners but I survived to go 1-0 up at the break. 5 minutes back from the break and Nemeth you gun puts me 2 in front. Tevez equalizes soon afetr but in the end I win 2-1.

That was a while ago though. :p Since then I played Man U again at Old Trafford in the EPL and drew 2-2. Started an England game and England starts 4th in the Euro qualifiers so I quickly got us upto second, and I didn't lose a game (friendlys and all) and we went to 2nd in the rankings (was pretty easy though) but then I lost to Russia away 3-1 which stung, totally unexpected. Then we were put under immense pressure in the last game, a must win because I was second and only 1 point ahead of Russia. It was against first place Croatia which I won 3-0.

Then in my England save I went hunting for a job and got turned down by West Brom so took the Cyrstal Palace job. First game I was 2-0 up but then they got 1 back with 12 minutes left, and when they got a penalty in the 88th minute I thought it was gonna be a draw... but we save it to my joy!!! Only for my joy to be extinguished when we conceded in the 93rd minute =/. 2-2 draw was the result of my first game in charge of Crystal Palace.

Wasn't a heart attack, more like anger :p Ahh well, my players were pretty tired lacking fitness at the start of the season, so being out of the cup has sort of helped us.

Andy Keogh is a gun. Now he's got 12 goals in 9 competitive games. Trouble is my defence are letting in stupid goals and Blackstock is having a complete goal drought. Not scored since the two he got in the friendly.

Oh and Priskin added to the 'New signings sending off club'. He got two yellows, but Etuhu is the club leader after his two footed challenge got him a 3 game ban.

Latest results:
1-2 Barnsley
2-2 Cardiff
0-0 Stoke (No idea how. They had 2 shots all game, none on target. We had 15 shots with 9 on target!)
2-1 Burnley
3-1 QPR
3-2 Leicester

Is that Nemeth the guy who used to play for Middlesborough?

Nah, don't think so. He's only 18 and his debut goal was in that Champions League game. He's a bit inconsistent though and misses some great opportunity's. But considering Torres is in such dire form and hasn't scored for ages and he keeps missing some gems, Nemeth is going great. :p

Aurellio, Arbeloa, Gerrad and Alonso have been scoring my goals recently apart from Nemeth and Carragher got one earlier with his head :D.

Good results there in the last 3 games, where are you on the table? Oh and can't afford Keogh, 2.5mil is to much for my 2.7 mil budget...

Up to 3rd after 8 games. It's pretty tight at the top though, just 2 points seperate the top seven. Good news is that we've only lost one game and that was to Barnsley who are further down, so we can definitely cut it at the top.

In the League cup semi finals, the first leg I was away to Aresenal. A really tough game and I expected to lose.. That was until Torres found his long lost form! 1-0 after 10 minutes, 2-0 after 33 minutes! Torres was brilliant, and so was Reina and I won 2-0 away from home. Gives me a nice cushion for the second leg.
