FOOTBALL Football Manager Discussion

Well off season and made a few new signings. Sold Vaughan to Newcastle for 1.8M pounds before getting Jonathan Woodgate on a free transfer, as well as Jason Lowe who will be part of the reserve side for the time being, and also made the huge signings of James McFadden for 5M pounds and Chris Wood for only 2.5M despite the fact that WBA rejected offers of 5M last season and his value was about 3.7M iirc.

What year is your game save in right now? :)

----------

Just had a good two legged-tie game against Fenerbahce in the Last 16 of the Champions League KO stages. Drew 2-2 in the first leg away from home. Should have won the game with the number of chances I had but was happy enough to get 2 away goals.

In the second leg, won 4-1 and Ashley Young and Giuseppe Rossi basically ran the show. Fenerbahce took the lead first in the 16th minute but a hattrick from Young before half time put me 3-1 up and 5-3 on aggregate. The 4th goal came from a counterattack towards the end with Albrighton getting an easy finish.

Young scored a hattrick and Rossi getting 3 assists. Brilliant! The latter's return from his long-term injury couldn't come at a better time for me in the game. :)

Anyone know when FM2012 is likely to come out, especially on the app store, it's an expensive app, so I was wondering whether it's worth waiting

Only my second season.

If you are still managing Blackpool or maybe have gone to another club come 2013, I think you may find Drogba as a free agent because IIRC, his contract expires in 2013 in the game and that is of course provided he doesn't extend it.

Don't you just love football when drama like this happens? :D

Won the first leg 3-1 and was doing okay in the second leg. They then suddenly scored two goals in 8 minutes and I thought I was going out till the late late drama. It was a scramble in the penalty box from a corner but not that I care one bit! :p

I then faced Ajax in the final but in all honesty, it was too easy(not bragging!). Strolled to a comfortable 3-0 win and even more so when they went down to 10-man early in the second half.

But Drogba's ████ :spy (Nah, I just really hate him)

Nearly managed to beat Man City after completely dominating the first 55 minutes up 2-1 then Keinan gives away a penalty and they level it up before Keinan then scores a tweaking own goal and then they score a final goal to win 4-2. Absolutely ████ from Keinan.

Had a decent start to the season though although had a ████ draw and had to face Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal in 3 consecutive matches, losing all of them although them plus Man City are my only losses this season as I have beaten Birmingham (3-1), West Ham (2-0) and Hull (3-0) and drawn Blackburn (3-3) and Bolton (1-1)

Goodwillie has been superb again as he has scored 6 goals in 9 league matches this season so far (tied second in the league) and all our new signings have done well, Wood scoring 3 goals and setting up 2 in 7 starts (1 off the bench), McFadden has scored 2 goals and has 3 assists in 9 matches with an average rating of 7.02, and Woodgate has done reasonably well with an average rating of 6.91. He's been hit though with a knee ligament injury and will be out for 2 months. I'm currently sitting 10th in the Premier League

This has to be the win of the season. Down 2-1 with 5 minutes remaining, Sylvestre hits a half volley from outside the 18 yard box to level things up before Taylor-Fletcher has an optimistic strike at goal, and Christensen fumbles it into the goal before Noble added insult to injury when he scored his first goal for the club after a 25 yard strike curled into the top corner and we won 4-2.

The 2013/14 season is going to start soon in my game save and Man United's purchases so far have driven me mad! :lol

They first bought Lavezzi from Napoli, then got Busquets on a free transfer and finally, they acquired David Silva from Inter! :facepalm

Well I couldn't believe it. Goodwillie scored a hattrick against Stoke, but got injured in the same game and my next opponent was Coventry who I was hoping to win by 5 and have Goodwillie score 3 or more but then I only just managed to win 2-1 despite them getting a red card 30 seconds in but Wood and Grandin scored in the second half to come back and win 2-1.

fearsome tweak my goalkeeper. Was dominating the game against Wolves, up 3-2 after a stunning performance from Chris Wood scoring 2 goals and winning the penalty to put us 3-2 up but then Caballero runs around with it in his own box before passing it straight to the opposition striker at the 18 yard box who has a free net to tweaking shoot at and scores and then they score again and win 4-3 in the 93rd minute.

I can't believe it. Charlie Adam wants to move to a bigger club. Ok, actually never mind. I had a conversation with him and just said that I believed the club would continue to grow and I wanted him to be a part of that and he said ok :p

And I'm up against Blackburn and Birmingham in my next 2 fixtures so that's likely to be 2 wins after a 2-1 loss against Man Utd.

----------

And Sunderland are top of the ladder atm :p and they've played the least amount of games in the league.

Table:

Pos - Team - Pld-Won-Drn-Lst - GD - Pts
1st - Sunderland - 16-14-0-2 - +23 - 42
2nd - Man City - 19-13-2-4 - +18 - 41
3rd - Man Utd - 19-11-8-0 - +14 - 41
4th - Arsenal - 18-12-2-4 - +21 - 38
5th - Liverpool - 18-11-2-5 - +22 - 35

And we have a horrible draw. 8 games in the space of 19 days, then I get the full week to recover finally before playing that weekend and then we play again 4 days later, then get another week to recover before we play on the Wednesday and then play 4 games over the next 2 weeks and finally get a 10 day rest before I finally start playing once a week again.
