Football Transfers Thread

well it looks like hleb is on his way...heres what his agent had to say...

I can officially confirm that a short time ago Alexander decided that he will leave Arsenal and join another club. Of course Arsenal and Arsene wanted him to stay but they have accepted the player’s choice.

I can’t tell you anything about where he will be playing yet. Talks are under way, and I don’t have the right to make them public. I think that the issue of his new club will be clarified in the next few days.”

Alex has spent three good seasons at Arsenal and he wasn’t sure he could maintain the same level that he has been showing if he stayed. It’s also true that he felt uncomfortable off the field. Alexander wants a change of scene. That’s had a large part to play in his decision.

well i still want to believe that he will be coming to arsenal...i mean the new manager is in and he will want to make some changes...and i know he is a class player but if the right kind of offer is put in, i think he would rather come to arsenal and play with his bro rather than stay there

Or maybe his brother will join him at Barca?

La Liga >> EPL

Which is why a side from outsie England couldn't knock out any English sides, and the only reason we didn't have 4 sides in the semis was because the draws didn't favour us. Meanwhile Valencia finish bottom of their group, Sevilla and Madrid go out to average sides and Barca get beaten by an out of form united side. Meanwhile in the Uefa cup, Bolton reserves beat Athletico and the only side to get to the stage the Eglish sides got to was Getafe, and the only reason they got 1 stage further than 2 English sides was because we're crap at penaltys. Yes you're right, La Liga is so much better.

No its not. All of you guys are English, so will obviously vote for the EPL. For me, although I might be biased, this season has been a purple patch for EPL teams.

In terms of flair and entertainment, La Liga games are far better and far more unpredictable.

United have been the best team in Europe though this season, that I admit.

Gilardino has joined the Viola from AC Milan.

That's because teams are so inconsistent. Real Sociedad came 2nd 5 seasons ago but they got relegated last year. Barca were far and away the best team in Europe 2 years ago but they finished well, well behind Madrid this season.

The only reason the La Liga is so unpredictable is because the teams can't maintain the same level of performance. You don't see that happening to United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Pool.

Which is a good thing for the league. Do you want the same four to finish top every season?

well comparing EPL and La Liga i would say that the top 4 teams from EPL are probably better than any of the teams from La Liga but La Liga has much more depth in their league unlike EPL...so they have teams after those top 4 which are still pretty good...sides like Sevilla and Valencia(although they were a bit poor this season)...but still you can't say for sure that La Liga is better than EPL...maybe the entertainment value is better in la liga but arsenal make up for that really ;)

everyone knows English league is the best, and most fantastic to watch. I find Spanish League boring to watch at times. Though it?s your personal opinion.

:D owned:D

Just to add to that, its been a long time for a purple patch, the last 4 finals have had an english team in.

I want high quality football every season, which the EPL delivers without fail every season.

Like I said before you guys are English and will always say the EPL is better. It was probably better this season and the last. But these things go in cycles and not so long ago we had an all Italian final, with three Italian teams in the semis, and before that it was the same with the Spanish teams.

Anyone who thinks there is no quality in La Liga either doesnt watch it or should consider reading the definition of quality.

In latest transfer news....our sporting director Mr. Mijatovic has said Robinho is going nowhere.
