Football Transfers Thread

When has he come out and said he wants to leave? Never (that source the other day had no evidence). Straight after the Champions League final "I stay", his Mum has said he is staying yesterday. Of course, the press haven't made a big thing out of that, as it wouldn't sell papers.

Please leave, lets not do an Henry and sell him on a year late for half the money. If his heart is not at united there is little point in keeping him. I'd say the success of the club has potentially been his reason to leave. The money and potential players on offer is stupid and we'd be mad to turn down 70/80m + robinho. Im just praying that united dont get diarra as part of it.

I think you should get rid of him to be honest. You'd make an absolute shedload of money, you could replace him with several world class players to re-inforce your stature as the best team and the world and besides, he's turning into a right cocky twat lately. I barely noticed him make one pass all through yesterday's game for Portugal. He's going for personal glory all the time and is turning into an increidbly selfish individiual on the pitch. Sell him. If he truly wanted to stay he'd have said so by now. It's exactly how Rooney was with us when you signed him. Was using the Euro's as an excuse to temporarily mask the fact that he wanted to leave.

Are you sure he hasn't said anything, because I read that he admitted to a newspaper that he wanted more money.

Some people in the world are just too arrogant. He's only making millions of pounds at Man U, he needs more. But hey, I'm not losing any sleep over it for Bandwagon United, they can afford to lose him.

I just laugh at all the people who spent money on Machester United Ronaldo shirts now that he's leaving.

He hasn't said he wants to go, he says "I stay". His Mum says "He stays". Yet SSN and the Sun and all these other "How shall we sell papers" media sources are brainwashing people. I won't believe it until I see him say it on the TV in front of my very eyes. The guy scored 42 goals last season, and you don't sell your best player unless he wants to go.

If he does, go, I won't be pleased one bit. But I'm confident he'll stay.

If I was a United fan i'd want him out with the way he's treating the club personally. If he genuinly wanted to stay then he'd have gone out of his way to say it. You should make his decision for him and sell him. No player is bigger than the club.

He did say it, straight after the CL final on ITV! I agree that if he thinks he's bigger than the club then he should go, but I don't think he's said anything to suggest that at the moment. In fact, there's a general consensus among United fans that he's just haggling for a new contract.

If he does go, United fans will be annoyed by him, but it won't worry us for next season. This squad will be great with or without him, especially if we spend a bit of money.

Ronaldo is class but if he goes for moe than 35 mil, i's an absolute mockery of Zinedine Zidane and emphasises how over-priced players are and how seriously screwed up the footballing world's price structure is. Zinedine was probably one of the top 5 greatest players to grace the game but as soon as someone has a brilliant couple of seasons, £100m demands are thrown in the air.

It's a mockery.

The difference being Zidane was 29, coming towards the end of his prime years. Ronaldo is the best player in the world, 23, with his best years way ahead of him and loads more time to improve.

Transfer fees are bound to increase with time. You cant compare the rates today with that 5 years from now. Otherwise noone should pay more than what was paid for Maradona, the best player in the world ever.

It's still too much. Any half decent player will go for 20mil.

Point in case being Darren Bent.

Yes, the transfer fees have got out of hand, but by current conditions and relativity, we ought to be getting at least 70 milllion for Ronaldo, and probably more.

Cantona has said he wants to be manager when fergie goes :).
Yep, I love that guy.:D Kind of understanding the Newcastle fans when they were happy about Keegan now, it would be amazing having him as manager. When asked about badges, "I don't need them":p.

He also said on talksport that if England wanted to qualify, they should have appointed him:D.
