Football Transfers Thread

Hmm, seems that bubbles not burst quite yet after all hey Phil..... ;)
After what Kaka said yesterday, it's quite obvious that if he goes, it's only because Milan think that the money they'd be getting is too much, and not because he wants to go there.

You were right on one thing anyway, you said they wouldn't be mid-table at this time of year, I'm sure you meant they'd be lower, eh?:)

If Kaka goes to City, you can't blame him. Milan have accepted a tremendous fee so there's no reason why Kaka shouldn't go except that City are crap.

Which would make Kaka just as much a moneygrabber (and even more of a hypocrite than Robinho). Just yesterday, he was spouting how he wants to grow old with AC and wouldn't accept a losing situation just to earn more. If he does go, of course.

Fifa have got to step in and put a cap on wages/transfer fees. I mean, ?500,000pw! That is the limit for me! Something needs to be done, otherwise the gap between super-rich clubs and those struggling to survive will grow even bigger!

No, it would not. He never asked for a move. He said he was more than happy to stay but if Milan have accepted the offer then he's betraying no-one.

The way I see things is that AC aren't doing as well as they'd want to be, they haven't got all the money in the world and by selling Kaka they are able to generate a massive amount of income which in the long term would be more beneficial to the club. AC may even go as far as to ask Kaka to leave for the benefit of the club, or at least that's what he may say.

If it's purely a business deal for AC you can't accuse Kaka of being a money grabber, but rather AC and rightly so.

If I were Kaka, I would not be happy with AC Milan. Its become a team filled with 30-40 year olds, with the exception of Kaka himself and Pato. I know Man City are not the most tempting of destinations, but if they are indeed offering you so much more, and have a ambition with a younger side, I would not say a move there would be such a bad idea.

I think if Kaka helps make City better and win something, it will be a bigger achievement than if he makes the move after City have already achieved that.

Kaka has won many thngs with AC Milan, now he should go to such a club whose future can be great with help of funds and great players. It wil be another big achievement for him. why putting a cap ? its totally depends on the management what they should give. If Kaka will be getting then its great. Man City was not a super rich club, few months ago ther luck turned and they got a billionaire. I wish tbh Tottenham would have got a similar kinds of fund along with Us :p Exchange Chelsea's owner with City's

All the people in the know are saying that these sort of inflated transfer fees and wages are dangerous to football. These foreign owners don't give a damn about our game! With this kind of money available, it will only be a matter of time before clubs owned by these super rich conglomerates will win everything in sight and the game will become BORING! Not to mention what will happen to ticket prices!! Even when Utd win lots of trophies, there is always plenty of competition along the way: we don't always finish ten points clear or whatever. And I still say this sort of thing will sound the death-knell for the England National team, because you can bet they won't be investing in Academies and such like. They want success NOW and academies won't give them that.

So, nothing to do with the £500,000pw then? No, of course not.

Edit: Anyway, if this is the way things are going, then all these City fans thinking they're going to dominate Man Utd forever should think again. It will only be a matter of time before someone comes along and pumps this sort of money into Man Utd: a team that know how to spend it and know how to keep investing in youth. Dream on, City. I wouldn't like Utd to be owned by a foreign Sugar Daddy (Glazier's a ****-Daddy), but if it's a case of 'if you can't beat them, join them', then I know what I'd rather happen.

Hurts when it's not just your club then? Gutted.

Besides, nobody can accuse Kaka of being a money grabber. He's never asked for the move and said everything possible to suggest he wants to stay in Milan. However if (as reported) Milan have accepted a bid then you can obviously understand the attractions of moving for a footballer of his quality - namely playing the best league in the world and being reunited with Robinho, someone whom he's frequently described as his best friend in football.

Also, on the Kaka not being a money grabber point, he actually gives half of his weekly wage split between his parents and his hometown Church in Brazil. He's devotely religious and actually leads an incredibly humble lifestyle for a footballer. He's given a lot of money to his parents so they've no longer had to live in poverty in a rough part of Brazil so they've been able to move to a nicer, richer place of the world and live comfortably. And the money he's donated to church causes throughout Brazil has helped take many children who don't his start in life away from the common gangland existance many children are being dragged into.

So, frankly Masterblaster has either been incredibly ill informed on the way Kaka lives or just incredibly spiteful at the possibility of him signing for a rival club.

My main problem with the Kaka transfer is why on earth would Kaka want to leave a wonderful, culturally historical, packed with majestic archetecture like Milan for Manchester.

It's got Jack to do with my own club not winning. It's got to do with these inflated wages and transfer fees ruining English football.

As for Kaka, OK, fair enough. I didn't know all that and can't be bothered to google every single footballer who goes to a club for stupid wages. Added to the fact that lots of footballers are moneygrabbers, it was reasonable to assume the same of Kaka. (Robinho? Or are you going to tell me that he's holier than thou as well. He was heading for Chelsea - loadsa money - but at the last minute, he chose a much smaller club. Why?) The fact remains that these transfers are very bad for football and that's not coming from me, it's coming from the football experts, the people who are really in the know.

As for City being a serious rival to Utd? Not yet. Maybe in a few years time, but as for now, they're still staring at a relegation battle!

No-one should criticise Kaka. He fairly obviously didn't want to go but Milan want him to go, shitty want him to go and his agent will most definitely want him to go :D Criticising City is fine though.

Anyway a much bigger transfer is Manucho to Hull, great deal for Hull, he will turn their form around.

That's who I'm having a go at. After hearing the kind of guy Kaka is, I can't have a go at him: he uses his money well to help his family and his country. I've always said that people who earn this kind of money should be required - by law - to give a certain amount to charity every year and I'm sure that not everyone does!

And he'll get some Premiership experience to bring back to us.

Jealously truely brings out the best in people doesn it.

Jealous of what, exactly? City are still struggling at the bottom of the table, Man Utd have a chance to go top. Right now, there is nothing to be jealous about!

Milan accepted the offer. He never said anything about wanting to leave. He's not a money grabber. I would take £500,000 per week quite happily anyway If I was in Kaka's position.

After watching The Secret Millionaire yesterday, I have worked out that the lives of about 1,600 people can literally be changed with £100m. No disrespect to Kaka, but transfer fees like that are an insult to football fans.
