Fiorentina have denied reports that Melo is joining Juventus but have now revealed that there is a good offer from Arsenal. However they want 16million euros + Eboue for the player.

what would it be like if we had our own little unlimited stack of cash one day?

No one knows. Could have been better could have been worse, and the same applies to any other club if you are talking about unlimited finances.

I'd sooner boil myself alive. and that's a fact!

Ha ha ha ha!!!

What? Man Utd with (relatively speaking) limited funds: successful. Man Utd + unlimited funds: out of sight! Because we know how to use it, unlike those idiot Citizens.

Oh and sounds as though Eto'o would take a wage cut to come to us rather than go to City. Lol!!!!! Huntelaar linked as well - if either of these are true, it's bye bye, Dimitar. Owen's clearly been bought as a squad player, so we could still go for Eto'o or Huntelaar. Still no word about any defensive midfielders though...

Madrid virtually have unlimited finances though. Their debts are written off by the Spanish government.

Fifa need to do something about clubs like Man City, Chelski and Real Madrid. The amount of spending power they have is going to ruin football. This isn't their own money, it's the government's money (in the case of Real) and it's an outside influence's money in the case of City/Chelski. I mean, Real are now seriously looking at Ribery for ?55m, aren't they. If that goes ahead, how much is it they've spend this summer? ?200m?? Something needs to be done.

Pile of garbage as usual.

Fifa can't do anything. Its the club's money and Fifa can't even prevent them from being bought/taken over by new owners. And like I said above, stop posting junk about the Spanish government's money because if you actually do know anything then you would know that they have voiced their concern about us getting our loans approved from the banks, at this time of global economic crisis. But then the banks will get their money back, with interest, in a pretty short interval of time, (thanks to our annual revenues, which is the highest in the world) so they are more than pleased with it.

The only time we had anything close to what can be termed as an "assistance" from the Madrid City Council (and not the Government as a whole) bought our old training ground at a slightly higher price than the actual value.

No, Madrid take out a loan off the banks. The banks they use (mostly) are owned by the Spanish government. Convienient that the team who are much preferred over their closest rivals by the government can have their debts wiped away virtually invisibly. It's pretty easy to "voice their concern" but they haven't actually done anything about it.

As for the training ground thing, it's nice to see you're starting to admit to that one, when you've spoke about it before, you've always tried to put a spin on it. The council is part of the government, by the way.

Again rubbish. Both banks are private, which is why the Government cannot do anything about it. Neither have the debts ever been wiped away.

And by the way, the current PM is a Barcelona fan.

Michael Owen? Bah, I'd rather start Welbeck (if he'd get stronger). Or Macheda too, if he wasn't so young. Bleh. Hopefully we do sign a good striker. I don't mind Man Utd taking Aguero of Atletico's hands, if we get a lot of money as we're after Eduardo "Toto" Salvio, who is known as the next Aguero, so yeah. :p

Ben Foster's signed a new four year deal as well. All our signings are expected to be paraded in Utd shirts next week.

Edit: So, that's ?16m(?) for Valencia and around ?3m for Obertan, whose transfer is expected to go through by the close of play today. Still over ?60m left to splash on a couple of players.

Edit: And there's a very important question that needs answering: who is going to wear the famous No.7 this season? It can't be just anyone...

There isn't 60 million left to spend though because the Glazers will keep it to there greedy ****ish selves.

Obertan has been talked about for a while, think Arsenal were interested. Still need a midfielder.

Read somewhere that Obertan is similar to Ronaldo.

In other news Brazilian striker Jo is going to extend his loan spell at Everton.
