Football Transfers Thread

Essien and Pirlo are different kinds of players. But Essien is more important to Chelsea than Pirlo, thats for sure. I do not see this deal happening though.

If they did the trade I'd fly to England and when Chelsea are up against Man City I'll run on the field and kick Tevez and Ancelotti in the face.

BBC Gossip Column said:
Notts County director of football Sven-Goran Eriksson is hoping to persuade Pavel Nedved and Luis Figo to come out of retirement and join the League Two side. The former England boss is also hoping to sign Inter Milan's Patrick Vieira.

Only gossip atm, but wow! and wtf! Can't see it happening.

Who's Sneijder gone to? Robben's gone to Bayern Munich hasn't he?

Sylvain Distin has joined Everton for a rumoured ?5.2 million. Good signing for us, and a good replacement for Lescott. We're apparently looking at 1 more centre back before the end of the window, which is more than likely going to be Steven Taylor of Newcastle. I'm still hoping we get a new right back, and possibly a striker as well. With Banega coming in to bolster the midfield we're looking strong. Optimistic for the season after a disappointing start.

Sneijder's gone to Inter for 12 million, which is a bargain. And yeah Robben's gone to Bayern. He's had a great pre-season too, but that's Madrid philosophy I guess, to play the players they've paid big money for instead of playing who's playing well.

Yeh, really surprised that Robben's gone. Looked awesome last season, least he didn't go to Lolspurs though, which was rumoured I believe.

Mourinho's got himself a bargain with Sneijder as well, ?12million is ridiculously cheap for him. Good signing that!

Sneijder and Robben especially have been good in preseason but over the past two seasons they have been highly inconsistent and incase of Robben injury prone as well. Sneijder did well in the starting but then just fizzled out, and I doubt he is good enough for playing at a top side in La Liga.

Besides both their replacements had been signed, so it was really a matter of time before they were sold. Besides it is being said that the Robben deal is part of a move that will eventually see Ribery join us next season.
