Football Transfers Thread

Adios to the Ruudster, who has moved to Hamburg on a free transfer. Despite his long injury, he has served us extremely well, scoring some really important goals. I believe he had some 60 odd of them in just over 90 games, so his conversion rate was excellent. Hopefully he'll recover soon at Hamburg and I wish him all the best.

And with the exit of the veteran, comes the entry of one of the finest talents in european football. Sergio Canales looks to have signed up for us for 6 million euros, but will continue to spend the next one and a half seasons on loan at Racing. Good to see the club investing early on up and coming talent.

Danny Welbeck joins Sir Alex's son Darren Ferguson's team Preston on loan. Well nice to see the youngster get some vital first team experience, even want to see Macheda go out on loan.

The only transfer I want to hear about is that of our club - from the Glaziers to someone else with lots of money! Utd don't deserve to be in their current position - not with all the success earned down the years, but I have no doubt this situation won't last too long.

United have a bid for Chris Smallings accepted. Havent seen much of him, just know he scored an own goal against Chelsea on his debut.

Ah yes, I remember it - one of the most unluckiest own goals I've ever seen. Don't know much about him apart from that, but we do need more defensive cover.

United have signed Javier Hernandez from Chivas, scored 4 in 4 matches for Mexico and looks to be a good one hopefully he doesnt be a flop like Manucho.

Apparently, Utd can't afford Villa for ?40m. So, we can afford Berbatov for ?28m who, let's be honest, has been a flop, but not a much better player for only ?12m more? Offer Berbatov and Anderson in part exchange then! No excuse - we have the chance to sign Villa and we're turning it down???? You know what'll happen now, don't you? He'll end up at Chelski. Or Manamecca City. Or worse, team up with Torres at bloody Liverpool! By not snapping him up, we're going to significantly strengthen one of our major rivals (City aside - they're not a major rival :D :p ), I have no doubts about that.

Transfer news: Manchester United can't afford ?40million-rated Spanish star David Villa - MirrorFootball.co.uk

He wants to come here, ffs! Sign him up, you Glazer morons! Offer a couple of players - flop Berbatov and Anderson in part exchange and sign him up! Glazers, will you please leave our sodding football club alone and sod off back to the USA????!

Jesus wept!

Anderson is going nowhere. I don't trust any reports on transfers until the clubs confirm them. Papers are 99.9% bullshit when it comes to this....and everything else really...

It's not just the Mirror though, it's in the more serious papers as well.

Have said it before, Anderson has to go. Presuming Hargreaves is fit for most of next season - along with the strong likelihood that Giggs & Scholes could be gone by the end of this season. United's mid-filed options will be Carrick, Fletcher, Hargreaves, Park, Gibson.

Really dont need Anderson. United should buy an attacking mid-fielder as replacement (have heard Milner & J Cole mentioned recently). But i really like Yoan Gourcuff for that role. Plus another quality pacy winger to back-up Nani/Valencia will be useful also.

Plus of course it looks likely Berbatov will go. But damn i dont see any other inform tall striker around Europe ATM.

- Hugain wont leave Madrid. Plus not sure if he would suite playing in the Premiership.

- Villa & Aguero may leave Valencia & Athletico respectively finallly this season. But one wonders firstly if they would leave Spain & if they do & choose United - if Rooney would play well with another short pacy striker next to him.

- Benzema is clearly talented. But buying him right now with him not playing to potential wouldn't be wise

- Edin Dzeko is probably the most inform like-for-like replacement for Berbatov around Europe i guess.
