Football Transfers Thread

United have a bid for Chris Smallings accepted. Havent seen much of him, just know he scored an own goal against Chelsea on his debut.

And the person who conceded a penalty to Hull City the other day if I remember correctly. And why Dzeko instead of Villa? Because of the age?

After passing Villa, Sir Alex Ferguson is asking Manchester United chiefs to part with ?60million to purchase Karim Benzema and David Silva, I am not sure though. Well of course both are not a bad pick but as someone mentioned why would you not sell Berabotv and make money for this transfer?

... because they wouldn't be able to con anyone to part with more than about ?5m for him...

I reckon I could currently put in a bid for Berbatov with all the money in my bank. So by that estimate he costs around ?400 :p

Jokes aside. I'd say Berbatov would be suited to playing in Serie A - he could be the striker Milan need.

Luis Fabiano wants to come to Old Trafford:

Also, Red Knights are feeling confident that if they can raise ?1bn, the Glazers would accept, since they'd be making a profit of ?200m or something like that. Anything to get these dead weight Americans off our shoulders!

Do you support Man United, Man City AND Chelsea?

My goodness, and I thought WORLD CHAMPIONS was bad.

I'm under the impression he doesn't really support anyone other than England - he just 'follows' those teams. :)

Now, 'caughtoffside.com' or some such site are saying that Sir Alex is ready to smash the British transfer record and sign David Villa for ?45m. How reliable are these sites - more or less than the average tabloid 'silly season' story? If it's true and comes off, just picture Rooney and Villa up front together... :upray

Didn't Sir Alex said he will not splash out ?40m+ for David Villa because of his age? But I guess people can change their mind in a matter of weeks I suppose. XD Anyway, he is a good finisher and it will be good to see him playing in the Premier League. As for the strike partnership, imagine Ancelotti buys Torres and plays Torres and Drogba up front together? :laugh

By the way, I spotted this news on BBC awhile ago.

Valencia striker David Villa will turn down Manchester United's advances to sign for Barcelona.
