Football Transfers Thread

Didn't Sir Alex said he will not splash out ?40m+ for David Villa because of his age? But I guess people can change their mind in a matter of weeks I suppose. XD Anyway, he is a good finisher and it will be good to see him playing in the Premier League. As for the strike partnership, imagine Ancelotti buys Torres and plays Torres and Drogba up front together? :laugh

By the way, I spotted this news on BBC awhile ago.

Valencia striker David Villa will turn down Manchester United's advances to sign for Barcelona.

I can't see Torres playing for another English club - if he goes, I expect him to go abroad.

Maybe but to be honest, I can't see him at Chelsea especially when we have both Drogba and Anelka in the team. Ancelotti may play with 3 strikers but I don't think that is going to happen though.

---------------Busquets----------

----------Xavi----------Fabregas-

Messi------------Villa--------------Iniesta

That looks more likely to me. And what a side that would be.

Yep. Its funny that some where saying early this season that Fabregas couldn't fit into the Barca team, thats why he shouldn't leave Arsenal :laugh

No Pedro or Yaya? Busquets is over-rated and can never do a holding job. But that team does look possible. They'll still depend on Messi and Xavi.

I agree with that. Guardiola's shot himself in the foot sometimes this season by preferring Busquets to Toure in that role.

That's true - you don't actually need Torres! Your goal spree this year speaks for itself. If I wanted to strengthen Chelski (!) I'd look at the defense - and maybe get a wideman or two in - and some decent backup for Cech - that Hilario guy is - hilarious. Hilariously bad.

Damn good FA Cup final - despite all Chelski's chances and hitting the woodwork, if Pompey had scored that pen, who knows what would've happened? Awful pen by Lampard as well - I don't think I've ever seen him miss one for Chelski before - looks like he's getting into England mode.

Bad luck about Ballack, eh Germany? :laugh

FFS We're not going to be another striker. Get over it already.

I disagree - if Sir Alex says he's going to rebuild the squad, expect big changes - especially up front. As I said before, I don't know where all the money is coming from though. Maybe there are Red Knights on the horizon...

I can see Torres, Messi and Fabregas in the same team...

So can I.

Yeah, maybe. I would say get a new right back and centre back as backups. Ferreira look horrible at times when playing at right back especially against speedy players. Having said that, we do have two or three young players in the reserves that can play in those positions. I guess it is time for them to gain experience in the Premier League.

It looks very much like Villa is off to Barca and Fabregas could well follow - according to SSN.

Yeah, and from the comments I read in SSN, some of the Arsenal fans out there aren't taking the news too kindly at all.
