Football Transfers Thread

I hope he comes to Liverpool, but right now, it seems like wishful thinking.

Everyone hopes he goes to their club :P .

He is Belgian, but still, the Lille French connection. So I have hope Arsenal could sign him.

I know he's a winger, but would be great as well if converted to a more central midfield position.

I just really hope Barca or Real don't sign them. There's enough players there already, I mean for heaven's sake the likes of Kaka spend their time on the bench there! Maybe in the future, but for now, he should move to Italy or England IMO.

Doubt he'd go to Bayern. Would receive some stiff competition from the likes of Robben and Ribery.

You only have to look at the where the biggest talents in the world have gone recently to see a worrying trend emerging. Afterall, where would you, as a player with no ties to either country or city, like to live. Madrid or Manchester? Milan or Liverpool? Barcelona or London (that one is closer to be fair, but then footballing wise it's a no-brainer).

this isn't meaning to come over like I'm correcting you, I agree, but there's one team that a lot of people seem to have forgotten about but is really building towards big things. Paris Saint Germain.

they have super rich owners, the club is based in paris for gods sake, and unlike the english clubs where there is now intense competition for CL places, they can guarantee CL football. They also are in the building stage so it means big players signed will get a first team spot unlike city where you are just in the rotation.

don't count out Hazard staying in France. they already hoovered up Gameiro, Menez and, biggest of all, Pastore, only man city spent more than them.

Hazard has already said he will not stay in France due to his loyalty to Lille. However, believe that at your own peril.

Have to agree. When I first started following French football I was surprised to see that PSG were not consistently top of the league, since you'd expect that from France's capital and major city.

Same can be said for Malaga and Anzhi with regards to the money then I suppose.

Well Hertha Berlin (based on the capital city of Germany) just got relegated a couple of seasons back, before promoting the very next season. Also they've never played CL football ever since I started following the game. Least PSG did in 2005. :p

Yeah I thought the same about that. But Paris is by far the biggest city in France, you could argue Munich is similar in standing to Berlin.

Ha highly unlikely to happen, but of course i'm sure you Arsenal fans would love for it to occur.

More like impossible. Buying even one of them is unlikely.

Rumours are M'Vila and Hazard may be moving to Arsenal to take regular starting spots in the line-up, but we all know Wenger will persist with his unknown Frenchies and his beloved Squillaci, Chamakh and co.

Looks like there's only place for one young holding midfielder, and that's definitely Coquelin who looks higher up the pecking order at the Emirates.

Add to that the fact that two "new" players are joining Arsenal shortly, Abou Diaby and Jack Wilshere, and there just isn't any space for him.

The loan will do him good.
