Looks like Gyan wants to stay in UAE. Greedy player. Hope he never returns to the Premier League.

Agreed. He clearly wants to just line his pockets, rather than line his pockets and create a real legacy for himself.

Yeah for all the people who accuse the likes of Hazard etc.. for being mercenaries just because they didn't pick the club the fan wants them to go to for no other reason than they support them, Gyan is genuinely a strange case. Really odd and I guess my total speculation is that wherever he initially comes from within his country was probably not much and he just doesn't care enough to play for anything but money and a life he wants. So I suppose fair play to him for doing what he wants, but I still find it strange to comprehend.

i can't comprehend it because for me at a certain pay level life just plateaus

That's a great way to be! I hope we are evolving towards that attitude.

It may be more traditional, however, to have the attitude to wealth attributed to Nelson Rockefeller. When asked "how much money is enough?", he reputedly answered: "Just a bit more than I've got".

Re Gyan, I'm not sure I know enough to comment, but I tend to echo puddleduck's "fair play to him", if only because I believe in live and let live.

It's very strange. It's not as if he wouldn't be well paid playing in Europe or the Premiership. Whatever sort of life he wants, he'll be able to get it playing in a big well known league and he'll have the chance to carve out a legacy for himself. He won't get that chance playing in what is basically a backwater - no matter how much money they might be able to throw at him.

Gyan now says his future may be anywhere. This guy just wants media attention, wherever he is.:facepalm

He is whoring himself out so that the team with the most money will make him an offer.

Perhaps Shanghai Shenhua will go for him if they miss out on Drogba? Or Guangzhou Evergrande? Anzhi would be a possibility too, as would staying in the UAE.

Sunderland is almost completely out of the picture though.

If Drogba goes to Shangai, with also the rumor having it that negotiations for a 2 year contract have broken down which is making it look partly probable.

I guess if that happens then whole of the 30+ aged players or footballers looking to make a life would turn up to these Chinese multi-millionaire slums Clubs. There's the only reason to like Man city THEN, because only they possess the best of the financial capabilities to overturn those Chinese cash raining offers.

sarcasm intended

Not at all bad news. Good news if anything.

In February I think it was, Wenger said Arshavin is going nowhere. He was then sent on loan seven hours later.

Recently, Podolski said no talks had begun with 1. FC Koln for Podolski. A few days later his signing was confirmed.

Lauren Juliens is a fairly respected journalist in France and he has had talks with M'Vila's camp. He says it's 99% done. I would never believe Wenger with a transfer, though when he grins during a press conference about a player or complements a player you can tell he is either close to signing the player or is interested in the player.

Same story here. He doesn't want to take the players' attention off the season-defining WBA match, good on him.

I'm sure it's all been agreed and it's just waiting to be confirmed once we secure 3rd. I imagine it'll be announced shortly after that, but if we don't we'll likely go for a similar player or cut-price option, e.g. Dembele or Biglia.

17 m sounds ridiculous though. I remember us offering 25 m last season, with the offer rejected. Rennes confirmed this.

Finally we're being linked with Kagawa.

There aren't many reasons why he should come here instead of United, but there are some that makes sense. Wenger speaks Japanese and is very well respected in Japan, Ryo Miyaichi is at the club, the system is tailor made for him at Arsenal, plus his style of play would suit us, whereas at Utd he'd have at least a season to get familiar with the new system and adapt to either playing on the wings or in a deeper role in the central midfield. Sucks for him that Shrek takes up his favoured role.

Utd he could win titles, but play less, at Arsenal he'll be aiming for the top four for at least another season, but be a vital part of the team, as Wilshere will be rusty as hell and with niggling injuries, Wenger will also not want to play Wilshere much no matter how good he is.

Still, we've already made the best signing we could've made all window - Steve Bould. Should see the defence being more organised, as it's what we need. It's no use playing one at the back when Vermaelen, Sagna and Gibbs/Santos are marauding forward. We've got good defenders, they're just horribly organised and this is what we need. M'Vila as well is a lot more disciplined than Song, meaning we can play at least two at the back at all times.

And what about hatem ben arfa.? Is he going to stay at new castle.?
plus gattuso,he is about to leave milan and join a team for a year and then he will think about his retirement.
plus is it confirmed that marin is moving to chelsea.?

Montolivo off to Milan, would've liked to see him in the PL, but still atleast managed to join a good club.

Arsenal to finish above us? You gotta be kidding me. They may have bought good defenders in Mertesacker and Santos but the other three signings - Arteta, Benayoun and Park Chu Young - have hardly set the world alight. They may come in good but still don't think they are gonna finish above us even once they have all their players back from injuries and suspensions.

Hey Jason, good to see you back, remember this:p?

Just thought I'd remind you of it at the end of the season.

Terrible that SAF was in the stands for the Pokal final to watch Kagawa:(. I'm hoping he was maybe there for Lewandowski.

Still, I can dream. We still have a slight chance in case he decides to go for Modric, Hazard or Sneijder, though the latter looks almost ruled out. Hopefully we and others can pounce during the time they pursue these other targets. Hazard can still be much better than Kagawa and Modric will give immediate impact, plus buying Hazard would mean City can't get him. So it seems there is still a decent chance he may not go to United.

Plus, no Euros to shine, perhaps the rising values of other European talents during the tournament will cause his value and interest to be decreased? At his price, he would be a great signing for anyone.
