Football Transfers Thread

Aquilani not featuring definitely comes as a surprise, but Matri has still got to improve heaps. Defo not a Euro candidate for me.

Edit:
Goalkeepers:Buffon (Juventus), De Sanctis (Napoli), Sirigu (Paris St. Germain), Viviano (Palermo);

Defenders:Abate (Milan), Astori (Cagliari), Balzaretti (Palermo), Barzagli (Juventus), Bocchetti (Rubin Kazan), Bonucci (Juventus), Chiellini (Juventus), Criscito (Zenit San Pietroburgo), Maggio (Napoli), Ogbonna (Torino), Ranocchia (Inter);

Midfielders:Cigarini (Atalanta), De Rossi (Roma), Diamanti (Bologna), Giaccherini (Juventus), Marchisio (Juventus), Montolivo (Fiorentina), Thiago Motta (Paris St. Germain), Nocerino (Milan), Pirlo (Juventus),Schelotto (Atalanta), Verratti (Pescara);

Forwards:Balotelli (Manchester City), Borini (Roma), Cassano (Milan), Destro (Siena), Di Natale (Udinese), Giovinco (Parma)

Hmm De Ceglie and Santon miss out as well, while the ever inconsistent Rannochia makes it? Debatable. Loving our attack line though - watch out for Destro people - a terrific prospect to say the least.

You're so late on that! :p

That was just my reply to Meghraj's post regarding Marin...

Hey Jason, good to see you back, remember this:p?

Just thought I'd remind you of it at the end of the season.

Ooops, busted! :lol

Certainly didn't expect us to performed that badly in the league but fair play I guess. First time Arsenal finished above us since they last won the league.

Time to raid Villareal.

Wouldn't mind Diego Lopez (we need a number 2, to push Szczesny, could even start), Nilmar or Giuseppe Rossi at Arsenal. Nilmar looked likely to leave anyway, he'll be gone very soon, will be interesting to see where he ends up.

Hazard now says that he will go to Manchester. Most likely City for wages.

And Kuyt has rejected Feyenoord, that should please Liverpool fans, although I feel his departure could've made atleast some renovations.

I've realised Hazard's game. He knew very well that he was leaving Lille this window, and knew it last season, yet still signed a new contract.

The guy isn't whoring himself out, he cares a lot about Lille and himself (rightfully so) and has no preference as to what club he wants to go to, or at least he doesn't want to show it. So he is basically fuelling a bidding war so that the team which pays the highest transfer fee and the highest wages will sign him.

Good person then. No team has a right to him. He has handled it much better than someone like Gervinho who only wanted Arsenal, and probably wanted to do more for Lille than Gervinho did. We could've used Fabregas having Hazard's attitude when selling Fabregas, we could've got a tonne more for him.

City aren't going to let Utd have him, so he'll go to City for sure. 200 K+ wages a week and a mammoth transfer fee.

It'll be funny seeing him take Na$ri's place in the starting line-up.

Wasn't even one good season, it was half a good season.

But yeah he still has a good reputation so can be sold for a good price still. Still glad we got 24 m for him though:D.

I'm just thinking about what City could be next season based on links and possible links that may come up.

-----------------Hart-----------------
-Richards-Kompany--Lescott---Clichy--
--------Toure--------Javi Martinez----
----Silva-------------------Hazard----
-----------Aguero-----Ibrahimovic-----

+Bench of Balotelli, Nasri, Barry, etc.

Add Jordi Alba or another LB and possibly a Lescott replacement, and holy mother kerplucker.

^^Alba will definetly not come barca most likely destination and for ibrahimovich who wants him.Cavani would be good signing but he is link with chelsea and that balotelli is staying 101% percent damn although he assist the most important goal that matter to us:p

Odds on Rossi to United.

Only guessing though, like with all ex-reds who are down in the trade with their clubs. Pique is a possibility too.

Pique I would love to see back at Old Trafford - letting Pique go was one of Sir Alex's few mistakes. Pique and Vidic? Nothing's getting through that!

Both of them are slow and have the turning circles of tanks. You need your CBs to complement each other to get a good partnership.

Didn't Pique play with Puyol at Barca though? Puyol's hardly the most mobile, is he? In any case, the defence is not where I'd be looking. Vidic/Ferdinand, Vidic/Smalling and various other CB partnerships will work fine. We need to be looking at the midfield - look at how easily City overran us in midfield that night.

He's not renowned for his pace but his acceleration and low centre of gravity made him an ideal partner.

I think mobility is an issue in midfield, it's fine when we have the majority of the possession and can dictate the game but in the bigger games we've missed the energy of Fletcher in the middle.

Yep - Fletcher's energy was a big miss, and without him there's no one else with a bit of steel to add to our midfield. It really showed against City and Toure in particular. If we could find a player like him, that would be perfect!
