Football Transfers Thread

A shame for Napoli, although they bought that promising Vargas kid in January, so it shouldn't be too big of a loss.

A proper link please.

And everyone knows Modric is linked to United, for the past week. Consider posting some new news.

There are now rumours that Utd are after Modric and Bale! If that was to actually happen, what a couple of signings! Modric - a much needed class playmaker and Bale - a ready made replacement for Giggsy!

Modric might end up leaving Spurs but Bale is a big ask - someone has to rob off glazers' bank account or don't see it happening. IF bale somehow lands in United then we're looking at a revolution.

Could happen now that Harry is gone for sure.

Debuchey (spell check) should also be high of united list as a full-time right-back . Plus if they can't get Modric, Cabaye is the next best option.

Vertonghen still wants to join the Spurs. They really need to build on that.

If Spurs don't get Vertonghen they deserved to lose the CL place. Throwing money around on Saha and Nelsen, yes they were free, but come on, why sign players like that when ready made starters like Vertonghen are begging to sign, and not getting in? Very strange, you don't often see players continuously saying they want to play for one team, perhaps only few a window. And one begging for Spurs is unheard of:lol.

A right back is needed at Utd. Piszczek or Debuchy would be great signings. Looks to be huge demand from English clubs for FBs. Tottenham and City seem the only ones with a decent RB, we've got Sagna too, but terribly injury prone, breaking his leg twice in a season. LB seems the same, Cole has patches, Evra is very old now and Baines is solid, but elsewhere, don't see any great quality.

Btw, looking at some of the players at the Euros playing for lesser clubs, anyone feel some deserve a move to a bigger club?

Gebre Selassie for one, getting racially abused, having the pressure of being the first black Czech player and putting in some fine performances. A good place to start attacks, decent going forward and not the worst at going back either, not a Bosingwa. At 25 though, I reckon a smaller PL club could take a gamble on him, or a bigger team as a 2nd choice.

Yarmolenko and Konoplyanka for Ukraine also look impressive. Not creating much in the way of goals or assists, but they look dangerous on the ball. Serious goal threats.

Anyone know of some others?

Was very impressed with Gebra Selassie and the Ukrainian duo you mentioned above, Konoplyanka in special. Poland's LB in Boenisch looked decent to me as well. Other hot shots imo being Pilar (CZE), Dzagoev (Russia), Varela (Porto), Jiracek (CZE, if only he can stop being a little selfish), Rakitic and Strinic (both Croatia), Debuchy (France), etc.

Debuchy and Dzagoev can't really be put into the category as the former plays for a good club, and is certain for a move really, Dzagoev is almost certain due to the six months on his contract. Neither are really hidden gems.

The rest are great shouts. Rakitic is one I've always thought highly of. He looked good at Schalke, honestly I expected him to move to a title-challenging side. I suppose that'll be his next move if he can continue to impress.

Varela is another, probably a bit underrated as he is behind Nani and Ronaldo obviously for Portugal and has guys like Hulk and Moutinho outshining him at Porto, but he definitely is one who could come out a great player. Loved his goal too.

Now Real Madrid are sniffing around Modric. If Utd want to get him, we have to get things moving now I'd say.

CSKA are a good team, they drew versus Real in the CL, remember? Also Dzagoev is their star performer, and if he doesn't want to sign an extension, selling him could be their best option.

Not another striker so soon.....

Already there's Podolski joining. Guess that's the end of Bendtner and Chamakh at the club. Park's future will also be under doubt.
