Football Transfers Thread

he was an absurd signing. overpriced, overpaid and with his injury record not what liverpool needed at the time.

Not like we gave him a chance to prove his worth while he was fit anyway. Hodgson loaned him out to Juve, while Kenny to Milan. He's a classy midfielder in my books, just a shame he's made of glass. Bet it won't be long before he's in national colors again.

I didn't say he wasn't a good player. But for the amount of game-time he'd need to adapt and then to actually pay back the fee/earn his high wage relative to how injury prone he is it was just way too risky a signing.

More often than not he'd turn out to be an expensive flop than an average signing, the chances of him turning out to be so good that the fee/wages seemed cheap were incredibly remote.

An opposite to this to try and get my point across would be when we signed beckford, my thoughts at the time were that he's not really good enough, however there is a chance he'd make it/I was wrong (and he did chip in with a few goals), but for free and with fairly low wages and the resale value of a championship club paying 2-3 million minimum it was a really good signing, even if he wasn't a good player.

I think we signed Grant Holt for ?400,000. Seems a bargain now, 70 goals in 129 games including 15 in the Premier League.

To be honest, if they have any interest in a full-time RB, they'd go for Debuchy instead of letting Newcastle get him with their derisory bids. Best RB at Euro 2012 and can grow a lot at a bigger club than Lille.

Not sure who would take Anderson, he must be on decent wages and he is a crock. Plus he's not talented. Berbatov, not sure about him.

I'm betting they'll spend it on another useless AM.

Reckon some club back in Brazil would take Anderson at least, if United decides to sell him and no Premiership club wants him or clubs in lesser leagues such as Bundesliga or Ligue 1.

Yeah, Internacional do need a replacement for Oscar now that Ganso isn't happening for them.

Anderson's talent isn't in question. His fitness and discipline, on the other hand, is.

He's generally been good when fit, his biggest problem has always been staying fit and getting a consistent run of games in the starting XI.

He formed a promising partnership with Cleverley in pre-season and the start of last season before Cleverley did his ankle against Bolton, hopefully we'll be able to see them both stay fit and cement their first-team places this season.

This will most likely be Scholes and Giggs' last season, so those two will be key in deciding the future of Utd's midfield because I'm starting to think Fergie won't reinforce the central midfield this summer, yet again. :noway

Anderson is terrible.

It's beyond ridiculous seeing Man Utd fans say Cabaye is not good enough for Utd, but say Anderson is.

Being 'good' is not enough for a team challenging for the title. Ship him out.

I'm not one of them, buddy. I'd much rather see Cabaye at Utd than Anderson, who has had his chance for me.
