Football Transfers Thread

Ha gotta love skysports on deadline line. Nico Kranjar (spell check) walked right past the reporter @ QPR while on air. That was unexpected since it all day the usual super accurate sources have been saying QPR main targets were Defoe & Sandro...

Ye i'm particularly pleased for him, because i'm deeply concerned how his career has stagnated at City. Cleverly should follow suit & try his luck overseas instead of useless trying to fight for aa place @ United or give lesser clubs headaches to sign him because of wage demands. ENG players need to get away from the premier league bubble a bit...

Welbeck to Arsenal for £16M has been confirmed. Thoughts on the price tag?

Same as Balotelli, more than Remy, few more and you have Bony, that's my thoughts. :facepalm

Richards to Fiorentina confirmed.

I remember the first time I saw Richards play in the cup against Villa.

0:56 for his goal.

Good that Richards has gone to Fiorentina - I'd love to see more young England internationals head overseas as it can only help their development.

Falcao...what's going to happen? Why does it always have to be so close!

Ha, I'm not watching it myself but I've seen some of the vine clips put on twitter :lol You've got to feel sorry for those reporters.

BBC Sport - Transfer deadline day: Alvaro Negredo joins Valencia on loan

No idea what we're trying to do, Negredo waited literally to the end of the transfer window to push a move through, giving us no time to sign a replacement, now we have 2 strikers (Aguero, Dzeko), 3 AMs/inside forwards (Silva, Nasri, Jovetic), 1 winger (Navas) and 5 midfielders (Yaya, Fernandinho, Fernando, Milner, Lampard), we best hope all of them stay fit or we're going to struggle to make it through to January with the amount of games we're going to be playing, then maybe we can splash some cash with no spending cap holding us back.

Don't think it can be done on loan, or so I've heard. Third party ownership isn't allowed in the Premier League. it has to be permanent.

What a bloody trash piece of business, the guy isn't worth £5 m to me. The biggest problem being that now I have to cheer on that moron and his retarded celebration.

Is he better than Sanogo? Yes. Is he better than Campbell, Bony or Benteke? Nowhere near.

Anyway, he has until the new year to come good before Giroud benches him but I don't expect much. Maybe he can score in a competitive fixture though?

Anyway, one thing I'm happy about - this has made me so angry that I am no longer going to waste £90 on an Alexis shirt.

He's passed the medical, just paperwork to be done before it's confirmed.

Well if that's the case, why would he even be brought over for a medical with a loan deal in mind? Anyway if he's passed his medical then the signing will surely be announced any minute now...

£16m squeezed out of Arsenal for Welbeck - nice! While I believed he was a decent young player who hasn't yet hit his stride, he isn't worth £16m. :) Hopefully this means Falcao will be confirmed shortly.

Transfer news: Colombia striker Radamel Falcao joins Manchester United on loan | Football News | Sky Sports

Finally, expect a fight to keep him beyond next summer though. :rolleyes[DOUBLEPOST=0][/DOUBLEPOST]
“Jorge Mendes tried all year, in fact the whole summer, to move him to Real Madrid,”

“Real Madrid have been saying all along for the whole summer that they just weren’t interested in Falcao.

“They wanted a striker, but not somebody to be challenging Karim Benzema; they wanted somebody who was happy to be a number two – a Diego Lopez type of figure who would be happy to accept that there was a way of playing, Benzema would be the number nine and they could come on and do something in the second half of games.

“Chicharito fills that gap, but Falcao was never the kind of player they wanted. The fact Jorges Mendes hasn’t been able to get that deal done means that Real Madrid were never open to that possibility.”

“I never heard anything about Arsenal at all. I don’t think Arsenal were interested.

“They only wanted a central midfielder who could play centre-back and the budget they’ve got is £7million or £8million – and with that in mind, Falcao was never a possibility.

“In the case of Manchester City, it became clear that Alvaro Negredo was wanted by Valencia and the deal wasn’t done quickly because Valencia thought all along that City were waiting to see if they could replace him with Falcao.

“There were conversations between City and his agents and nobody could deny that, but when Manchester United came into the equation late on Sunday night they said yes to everything and the deal went through.”

thedon5's opinions on Welbeck:

Top attackers aren't going to want to have Valencia, Young, Welbeck and Cleverley around them

Kagawa is so good yet Danny Welbeck will be played ahead of him for the rest of the season.

Welbeck is awful

Looking at Welbeck Man Utd need him to be much better than he is now, near enough van Persie level to make up for the deficiencies elsewhere in the squad. He is clearly not there and never will be so isn't good enough.

Welbeck is so bad, Carroll and Lambert are much better than him, especially Lambert.

Welbeck is crap

Hernandez is also IMO twice the player Welbeck is, at least as a striker. Better in literally every way except work rate, but they're strikers remember.

I think Welbeck is about good enough to play for a bottom half team at least, he could do a job at Cardiff or Hull probably for example.

Looks like Welbeck, Hernandez and Kagawa will finally get some proper chances. I hope Welbeck plays so that he can mess Man Utd up even more.

Oh and yes, Welbeck is still crap.

Do I need to say why Welbeck should go:p.

If there's one thing Welbeck is good at, it's putting in a shift. Problem is that's all he's good at.

Welbeck over Defoe..?

Dear god...

But I do remember rating him back after his decent season in front of Rooney, problem is he has regressed if anything since then.
