Football Transfers Thread

What a bloody trash piece of business, the guy isn't worth £5 m to me. The biggest problem being that now I have to cheer on that moron and his retarded celebration.

Is he better than Sanogo? Yes. Is he better than Campbell, Bony or Benteke? Nowhere near.

Anyway, he has until the new year to come good before Giroud benches him but I don't expect much. Maybe he can score in a competitive fixture though?

Anyway, one thing I'm happy about - this has made me so angry that I am no longer going to waste £90 on an Alexis shirt.

Ye ha even as supporter of ENG players, Welbeck is on i don't rate - especially in his main role as a striker. I won't have him near to ENG team at the moment.

Gunners need a potent goal scorer, why didn't Wenger try to activate Bony's swansea clause? Plus i was seeing on SKY deadline day coverage that maybe Huntlenaar (spell check) was around.

Welbeck is obvious upgrade on Sanogo or wateva his name is, but he is a development buy. The only hope for Welbeck is that he got to do like Sturridge when he went to Liverpool & score goals presuming he gets a regular run as a central striker.

But i'm not convinced by Welbeck's striker instincts. I still feel he's turn out to be another Darren Bent.

Tom Lawrence sold but Tom Cleverley loaned wtf :/

Ha, I'm not watching it myself but I've seen some of the vine clips put on twitter :lol You've got to feel sorry for those reporters.

D***O and that Dummy ! :D oh above all f**k her right in the p***y

Transfer News: Celtic get SFA help over John Guidetti loan deal | Football News | Sky Sports

With Negredo gone and a big gaping hole for a 3rd striker left behind, this could be Guidetti's shot at some 1st team football at City, so really hoping FIFA doesn't allow this or we end up pulling the plug on it...

Huntelaar always seems linked to a move to the PL, but never does it materialize, Bony was a real option given his supposed release clause and Arsenal I don't think even bothered trying at him, Wenger's the most exasperating manager in the world, I have no idea how Arsenal fans continue to put up with him.

With the AFCON on this season, African players like Bony and Aurier were never an option.

Huntelaar is too limited to be a good player at Arsenal, same problems.

Welbeck at least has some pace and his work rate will bring up our pressing game, him and Sanchez will be a handful. He's better than nothing and tbh I'd rather we got him than Bony or Huntelaar. He can score goals unlike Sanogo even though he's crap, and with the service he'll get I can see him getting some really nice numbers until Giroud comes back, maybe he'll keep him out of the team too.

Welbeck has a chance to be a good player I guess, whereas we know with Huntelaar that he isn't at all what we need and same with Bony due to AFCON. Sick of the slow lump-type strikers anyway.

Ye that AFCON would be a legitimate turn of for African players, fair point.

AFCON needs revamping, don't know why they don't keep that COMP every 4 or two years in the summer months like the EUROs, Copa America & CONCACAF Gold Cup. That January ting every other year can be a real irritant.

Giroud would be back in time for the ACN, and I sense a lot of back pedaling here... :rolleyes[DOUBLEPOST=1409720325][/DOUBLEPOST]The ACN is a pain in the ass though, having constantly dealt with it with Yaya, 1 reason I'm kinda glad we didn't sign Benatia.

The AFCON usually destroys your season as experienced with Gervinho in both his seasons at Arsenal, don't really rate Giroud either so for the short term Bony wouldn't be a solution.

There are two things Welbeck undeniably has, pace and work rate. It's a shame he's a crap finisher, but the fact is so is Giroud and he got 22 goals in all competitions last season. Welbeck should get 10 until Giroud is back and if he can achieve that as well as good overall play, then he is likely to keep Giroud out of the team. Welbeck can help against the big teams where playing Giroud was like having ten men on the field, it should allow the likes of Sanchez and Ozil to flourish if he just runs around a bit. Giroud offers something different though and will be useful against the likes of Stoke and West Ham.

Our forward options are still crap though and unless Welbeck is Sturridge v2 we are fighting for fourth place or better. I'm more concerned with how we only have six senior defenders in the squad including just two CBs who are constantly overplayed. Plus Arteta and Flamini are our only DM options for another season.

I can't see at all how I am back pedaling, Welbeck is crap but offers pace and good work rate. He is a better player at Arsenal than at Man Utd since he fits our system much better and hence can at least match Giroud.

Acceptance

We might actually be ok....and he can't be worse than Sanogo.
