Football Transfers Thread

no not that old...you know...someone who isn't in school anymore...lol...

Eto'o to Arsenal is looking possible unfortunatley, with Thierry going the other way. Would be a bad move for Barca as an Ageing Henry has nothing on Samuel Eto'o. Would be a great deal for Arsenal though. Fingers crossed it doesnt happen :p

You're a Chelsea fan?! :mad
Pizarro isn't that good anyway imo.

1. Meh,you saw it coming.

2. Meh, you're just saying that.

I think if we get the summer signings right this year we can have a better title chase than last year but to point number 1 i also support Pompey:cheers

lol if pizzaro was so good then maybe someone else would of tried to get him. maybe he'll be as good as shevchenko :)

I'm more worried about Shevchenko coming good next year than any of the other chelsea players, if you look at how Drogba has developed after 1 season then mos would regard Shevchenk as a better player imagine both of them up front. But who cares when you've got the next Ronaldhino, superNani (not off the tv :p ) Rooney, Giggs, Scholes, hargreaves and Carrick in the midfield and up front :D 2 years ago we had O'Shea (whos the best striker in the prem now,all he needed was a positional change) Smith and Fletcher in midfield!

Older players wouldn't fit into Arsenal's style...
It is too quick for old players to keep up to pace with it so young players work best at Arsenal.

Bergkamp wasn't quick

I am just always astounded at the absolute rubbish signings Pool seem to come up with every year-compared to the other big teams.I hope we get moving soon!It was a good sign to see Fabianski come in,as Lehmann was horrendous near the end of the season...

They've made some good and bad signings like most teams. Dirk Kuyt and Daniel Agger have done well. Before that it was Xabi Alonso, Luis Garcia and Pepe Reina.

The prem is a better league than the bundesliga and Pizarro didn't set the bundesliga alight did he? I thought Chelsea were meant to be a good team...
Going for mediocre players in the bundesliga will do them no good.
I'm not complaining though :).

He did actually set the Bundesliga alight. And often people who have struggled overseas have gone on to become starts in the Primership. Thierry Henry is the best example.

Also Im not saying Nene is bad, but he hasnt faced much good opposition yet. So comparing him with Ronaldinho is just stupid. Every guy who runs fast wont become a legend.

Err...those signings that have made Liverpool a better team than Arsenal? Rafa's successful signings totally rule out the poor signings anyway e.g. Alonso, Garcia, Reina, Kuyt, Crouch, Agger (class buy), Sissoko, Mascherano, Pennant and Aurelio have also done well.

Chelsea Football Club can comfirm we have signed Claudio Pizzaro:)

Ooooh! Pizzaro! A Bayern Munich reject, we're really scared, Chelski!!!

Ronaldo reckons that we've signed a couple of young phenomenons and he should know, he used to play in Portugal and I would imagine, keeps in touch with football over there!

I'm glad we're not getting Anelka, though! To quote the Italian guy from 'Allo 'Allo:

Whatta mistaka to maka!!! (that would be)

Crouch and Pennant are over-rated. They are probably as ordinary as Zenden and Gonzalez but arent criticised as much because they are English.

And Pizzaro isnt a Shevchenko or Eto'o kind of player but he was never a Bayern reject. Anyways I will let him shut you guys up.
