Football Transfers Thread

Yes, it seems the £6.8M release fee now seems not to be in the contract (this is somewhat different to what was being reported over the weekend). As far as I know anyway Liverpool made a bid, which was rejected and that was that, the rest seems to be driven by the players desire to leave. Most likely outcome is he'll go to a foreign club for a lot less than Liverpool bid for him.

There's been talk of him buying himself out of his contract. To make himself a free agent, allowing him to move to whoever he wants.

Whatever....he Should Stay...we Dont Really Need Him..but We Need A Sub For Evra Probably.. :p

I must say I was quite surprised that Rafa wants Heinze, but I trust he knows what he's doing. It seems Liverpool's bid has met a release fee in his contract too so I guess this could be another transfer settled by lawyers.

In other news Ljungberg has moved to West Ham in a deal that could be worth as much as ?3M

Damn good deal for West Ham, he's a class player.

Well i'm a little annoyed we didn't get as much money as we could out of the greedy *******s...But its a good move for Freddie,as we need to give our young team the chance to grow together.Walcott looks set for a lot of games this season.I'm expecting good things from him/.

Come to Madrid. We desperately need a left back.

while it may not interest most lewis price has moved to derby for about £200,000... i feel we should have gotten more for him but hey.
also, the mighty reds have finally offloaded bellamy to west ham, poor guys :P

Schuster After Friendly Victory: "I Need A Player Like Ballack"
Bernd Schuster presided over his first Real Madrid match today, watching his charges win 2-0 over a dogged Stoke City side. After offering his thoughts on the game, he moved on to discuss possible signing targets...

Schuster said, "I look for Ballack's type of player. It's necessary to sign players of quality, otherwise it's not worth the trouble."

However, he was cautious in his approach, adding, "We know that players often have big contracts with teams that will compete in the Champions League.and the problem there is that they are not likely to leave.

"I like Ballack, but it doesn't mean we're going to get him."

Hopefully Ballack joins Madrid and then we will have perfect attacking options.
Ballack will also get the chance and space he deserves and will fit in well with the german coach.

Yea i know, but i think we really need an attacking midfielder next to Guti.
hope for the best..;)

VIVA MADRIDDDDD!!!!! =D

I know. Which is why we wanted to sign a certain Mr.Kaka. We also need a left back as I mentioned a few posts earlier. I just hope we land either Drenthe or Heinze. I dont want Torres to play out of position there.

Simao has moved from Porto to Athletico Madrid for around £13M, strange how Liverpool had higher bids turned down in the past. I would understand these price hikes for the top EPL clubs if the selling clubs were in direct competition with the buying clubs but why would a club take less money than it can get for a player?

Other big movers are Christian Chivu from Roma to Inter Milan for around £10M, Petrov from Athletico Madrid to Man City for around £5M and Roque Santa Cruz from Bayern to Blackburn.
