Seeing as there's a LVCC thread, and prompted by Kev, I thought I'd start one about the FPT which starts this Sunday.

The first set of games are as follows:

Durham v Yorkshire
Gloucestershire v Worcestershire
Kent v Essex
Lancashire v Derbyshire
Leicestershire v Northamptonshire
Somerset v Hampshire
Surrey v Middlesex
Warwickshire v Nottinghamshire

As I said in the LVCC thread, hopefully I'll get down to the Lancs game on Sunday. If Flintoff does what he should and takes his time, then Lancs should see a lot of him this summer.

Durham Dynamos vs Yorkshire Carneige is live on Sky Sports 2 and Sky Sports HD 2 this Sunday from 11.30am.

Come on Durham! Onions to torture the Yorkshire batsmen.

Bopara gets 99, he's making tons of runs as is Shah, looks like we have some good decisions to make for the tests especially if Freds back. Strauss hit a huge hundred today too, all the batsmen in the frame for selection are making runs.

Anyway the game on skys been ok, Yorks bowled ok, could go either way with Durham, good to see Rashid playing some OD cricket. Would rather watch Kent-Essex or Hamps-Somerset though. Why Durham are at home on the day of Newcastle-Sunderland I don't know.

Guess thats fair enough but don't think they could hav had a more interesting team to play against than Yorkshire to star off with :p Would have liked to see them play Lancashire with Fred if they want to show an interesting game but I'll stop moaning now, the Durham pace attack should be worth watching.

Somerset are in a bit of bother at the moment. 30 odd for two with Tresco and Langer back in the hutch. My money is on Hildreth to see us through, he's been in top form pre-season, plus we bat down to 9.

Yorkshire are 67-5 chasing 221 for victory.

Lancashire vs Derbyshire and Warwickshire vs Nottinghamshire abandoned. Lecis vs Northants is too.

Strauss hit 163 from 130 balls, batting at 3. Biggest score in the shorter format, 2nd score of 150 or more (following 152 vs Bangladesh). Some nasty bowling figures for Surrey though.

10 overs between Lewis, Afzaal and Benning go for 101. I presume this is Chris Lewis? Thought he was only T20s?

Where's Saqlain for Surrey? One of the best One Day spinners of all time and he's left out. I think I'd have sacrificed someone for him, even if it isn't going to turn a lot.

Considering that these days his knees can't with standing a heavy breeze, he's probably injured, being rested or they felt it was too early season for spin to play any part.

Obviously earlier I mis-spelt Blackwell by putting Hildreth instead. :D

What a game this is turning into on SS as well.

Bresnan and Shahzad nearly got them over the line. Bresnan reminds a bit of Glenn Chapple, maybe better with the bat.

Durham won by 5 runs. Yorkshire needed 6 off 2 balls with 1 wicket in hand and Bresnan was caught just inside the circle. A great start to the tournament - who needs the IPL when we have the Friends Provident Trophy!?

Essex won by 31 runs, Pettini got 119. Kent have had a terrible start to the season.

Just Checked Strauss innings. He is all set for internationals now, doesn't he? :p
