FTP: From the Pavilion general chat

Awesome week of YOD cricket. Started this round at 4th place and pretty much stay 4th despite a 122 run victory, but the most important thing to note now is that I'm only a victory away from the top 3 sides with two more rounds to go and guess what? I'll be playing two of the top 3 sides in my last two weeks and also noticed that they have ratings of only 45k odd. :D

Just my looked at my stats and Leoegrance Elliot is now my number 1 person with 792 runs

Standings

Man, totally slipped my mind that I had a friendly today. Luckily my SOD default is my strongest but I needn't have worried.

[OD Friendly] Iridium XI 133 for 0 (Alam 68*, Campbell 64*) beat Sunnys Baywatchers 127 (Samad 39, Kapugedera 4-25, Frylinck 3-32, Garrick 2-27) by 10 wickets

Sent in to bowl first on a flat pitch with overcast weather, advatage for seamers. But it was my spinners who did the damage picking up 7 wickets between the two of them. With a small target to chase, Alam and Campbell helped themselves to a half century each, cleaning things up in just 13.2 overs.

Those are their career stats or stat for club only?

Am currently 31/2 after 3.5 overs chasing 207. Going very fast thanks to their misfields and de burgh's boundary hitter kicking in. The wickets column isn't very good though...

[SOD] Iridium XI 80 for 1 (Alam 47*, Campbell 18) beat Te Puke Thunder 79 (Allen 24, Garrick 4-11, Frylinck 2-12, Kapugedera 2-16) by 9 wickets

Nice crumbling pitch for my gun spinners but it was medium pacer Garrick who did the damage taking out the top/middle order before my spinners cleaned up the tail. Alam then came out and took charge of the chase.

A win next week will seal my place at the top of the SOD table.

What I posted over on the FTP forums:

I won my match in the end

End of over 42 (12 runs) - Chewie CC(207-5) RR 4.93
P. O'Keeffe 78 (110b), D. Cawse 5 (10b) , A. Nash 6-0-38-1
Chewie CC won by 5 wickets

Chewie CC jacko's XI
Batting - Top Order: 11,858 11,100
Batting - Middle Order: 8,364 8,752
Batting - Tail: 2,604 4,672
Bowling - Seam: 11,633 (8) 10,902 (6)
Bowling - Spin: 13,310 (2) 10,968 (4)
Fielding/Keeping: 12,090 8,395
Overall: 184,811 173,251

I think quite a bit of it was because of some poor fielding on Jacko's behalf. My players were dropped a few times and lots of extra runs were scored (don't remember what my fielding was like but I don't think I dropped/gave away as many runs as he did).

That momentarily moved me out of the relegation zone, but then newlynnstags upset Stonecutters, and I am back down to 7th. The highest place I can get is 6th now, at the expense of either Jacko or newlynnstags, depending on who wins their next round match. Unless I beat Armchair Athletes (peep) which is highly unlikely :p The newlynnstags match vs Stonecutters was a great one, going right to the death. with a rather unfortunate result for me.

Oh well, at least Lansing finished the day on a high after a wicket when they needed 2 to win.

40.3 W M. Lansing to Chyer : That's bowled! M. Lansing looks thrilled to get the wicket and directs Chyer back to the pavilion.
F. Chyer b. M. Lansing 105 (114b 6x4 1x6) SR:92.11

Didn't do too badly with the bat. My scorecard:

Murch 32 (35)
Crane 38 (51)
Pettinger 24 (31)
O'Leary 46 (49)
Omara 10 (21)
Oldroyd 11 (17)
Yousif 36 (39)
Whiteman 42 (33)
Bollinger 8 (7)
Lansing 5* (4)

Total: 272/10

Bowling:

Yousif 0/26 (5)

Crossed the 500+ barrier second time this season. Bettered the old record by one run.
NYY: 514/5
Kris surrendered to law of averages and got out for 7. Then Alderman and Christopher took charge. Christopher got out for 67(45b). But Alderman carried on to score his best score in his long SOD career. He got out for 223(141b).
King his proving to be a great finisher. Again played a brilliant cameo of 70*(34b).:clap

lol.. they are struggling.

A hattrick for Powers!
That is 5 wickets for Powers!

2.6 W Powers to Shivani : [catch] Short of a good length delivery on the stumps, Shivani makes room and takes a swing. The ball clips the top edge and balloons up to mid-on.
K. Shivani c A. Mishra b. S. Powers 0 (1b 0x4 0x6) SR:0.00
2.5 W Powers to Rukmini : Edged and out! Caught rather easily in the end. Connor moved slightly to his right and watched the ball drop nicely into his gloves.
G. Rukmini c S. Connor b. S. Powers 0 (1b 0x4 0x6) SR:0.00
2.4 W Powers to Ritchie : Terrific ball that moved away just a touch from Ritchie, drawn forward into a drive, and it took a thin outside edge to a diving Connor behind the stumps.
A. Ritchie c S. Connor b. S. Powers 0 (3b 0x4 0x6) SR:0.00

2.3 . Powers to Ritchie : Probing line and length here from Powers, unconvincingly navigated by Ritchie
2.2 . Powers to Ritchie : Ritchie does his best Boycott impression and defends that delivery back down the pitch.
2.1 W Powers to Brierley : There's an edge! Connor gets his hands to it but can't hold on and Mishra shows superb anticipation and reflexes to quickly grab the looping ball. A very relieved Powers joins them to celebrate.
C. Brierley c A. Mishra b. S. Powers 2 (7b 0x4 0x6) SR:28.57

They are 7 down for just 5 runs

I guess i gonna smash the record for biggest win in SOD :p

----------

They are 14/10 allout. That means we won by whopping 500 runs. Thats gotta be a first
Massive boost for my NRR;)

My rating was 162K while opponent was 17K :facepalm

Two players managed to score 2 runs each, rest 8 were ducks and my bowlers were too generous thus they gave 10 extras :p

My highest is 529/4. But a 500 run win is just hilarious. I love these massively one-sided encounters :p

A tie isn't the worst result one could endure, but with my team having a rating 10k higher than my opponent's, that's certainly a bad result. Nevertheless, good last 3 balls from van Amsterdam. My opponent needed 5 to win off 3 with 4 wickets in hand and Amsterdam finished conceding 1,2,1.

And forgot to mention that I made a good turnaround to post 284/7 after being 200/7 off 35 overs at one stage.
