Dominating Chewie atm :p

We've done well with the ball as well having them at 80/5 after 22 overs, Bol the pick of the bowlers with 3/35 from 7 overs so far while Prasanta took 1/9 (4) and Bollinger took 1/12 (4) from their spells and Healy and Yousif have bowled with good economys.

Iridium XI - Season 13 summary

Senior One Day/OD Friendly

SOD League: Played 14, Won 13, Lost 1 (92.85% win rate)
OD Friendly: Played 13, Won 7, Lost 5, Tied 1 (53.84% win rate)
Overall: Played 27, Won 20, Lost 6, Tied 1 (74.07% win rate)
SOD 5.12 League position: 1st

As the above record shows, we dominated the OD league games in which we played, but still remain largely inconsistent against quality opposition, especially in the case of the PC World League.

Our only loss in the OD league came in our first OD game of the season, where we lost by a margin of just 1 run. After that came 13 straight OD league wins which led us to the league win and promotion for next season.

Top SOD/OD Friendly run scorers (Season 13)

Taj Alam - 986 runs @ 54.78
Alester Khozo - 900 runs @ 52.94
Quinn Campbell - 759 runs @ 54.21
Hashan Weerasiri - 557 runs @ 39.79
Anil Khan - 523 runs @ 47.55

Top SOD/OD Friendly wicket takers (Season 13)
Christof van Zandt - 48 wkts @ 18.27
Jaco Frylinck - 45 wkts @ 14.31
Jesse Elloit - 45 wkts @ 14.64
Chandradasa Kapugedera - 31 wkts @ 12.68
Patrick Garrick - 27 wkts @ 33.11

Twenty20

T20 League: Played 14, Won 14, Lost 0 (100% win rate)
T20 5.11 League position: 1st

Twenty20 cricket has been one of our stronger areas. Over three seasons we have only lost 5 T20 matches. This season, we didn't drop a single game. Promotion was never in doubt.

Top T20 run scorers (Season 13)

Geoffrey Lindsay - 312 runs @ 78.00
Taj Alam - 234 runs @ 39.00
Quinn Campbell - 185 runs @ 30.83

Top T20 wicket takers (Season 13)
Christof van Zandt - 24 wkts @ 7.38
Niels van Dalen - 19 wkts @ 5.63
Patrick Garrick - 16 wkts @ 9.44

Youth One Day/YOD Friendly

YOD League: Played 14, Won 11, Lost 3 (78.57% win rate)
YOD Friendly: Played 1, Won 0, Lost 1 (0.00% win rate)
Overall: Played 15, Won 11, Lost 4 (73.33% win rate)
YOD 4.1 League position: 2nd

We also have a decent youth squad who have performed extremely well in the past, securing promotion twice in the previous two seasons. This season, we ran into a team which whose skill was above and beyond our own: newlynnstags. They remained unbeaten in the YOD league, inflicting two losses to us. The other was due to overconfidence, slipping up against a weaker team. Set 137 to win, Iridium XI crumbled to 127 all out in a humiliating defeat.

Our one friendly of the season was against Hedger's Team. This was a team which focuses primarily on their youth side and it showed, thumping us by 7 wickets.

We lost our best youth batsmen, Clem Powell, to senior side. He was a machine at the top of the order, scoring 2812 runs at a phenomenal average of 72.10 and maintaining a strike rate of 105.63 over three seasons. Stan Buttsworth and Adye Jeffreys were let go after the final youth game of the season. With the club's finances just making it through the season in the black, a reduced playing roster was needed so it was decided that Powell was to be the only player retained.

Top YOD/YOD Friendly run scorers (Season 13)

Clem Powell - 827 runs @ 63.62
Brendon Cleary - 575 runs @ 95.83
Matt Allen - 505 runs @ 42.08

Top YOD/YOD Friendly wicket takers (Season 13)
Barney Pfaff - 36 wkts @ 15.06
Stan Buttsworth - 22 wkts @ 23.73
Rik Juffermans - 21 wkts @ 21.14

Sponsorship has gone up 26k for me :D I can afford to buy a new player

I have a easy first round in pavalion cup. Playing a team ranked 1900 in the world :p That means more money. Already bought a player for 280K and i guess he'll be my only signing this season. 70 K left int he bank. That would be spent in the wages.

@ Chewie how do you know your sponsorship has increased? :spy

Looked in my finances.

04 Jul 11 00:00 - New season, new sponsorship
As discussed on the forums recently, at the end of this season the amount of prizemoney awarded is being halved.

To compensate managers for the loss of prizemoney:
- weekly sponsorship is being increased by 20% as of today.
- wages will not be charged during the one week off season starting from next season.

The reason for this change is to try and lessen the requirement for managers to stockpile their end of season prizemoney to cover for running their team at a loss each week.

FTP-ashario

This is why there is such a large increase

Prizemoney: $499,000

I think the highest Prize money in PlanetCricket...

I want to play in the New Zealand Club Cup. Got an invite last time but had to decline to play in FTP WL.

Quite a while. 31 July - 29 Sept. I don't even know if I'll get invited this time around :p

A small doubt here as to who's more valuable to my team?

A guy with better primaries but less rating?
Or a guy with a relatively lesser primaries but a better rating than the former?

Do you have another captain that's any good?

Well the second guy has better secondaries than the first which is why he has a higher rating, but both are reliable summaries so that shows that they even out but the second guy has better fielding so idk.
