FTP: From the Pavilion general chat

After our cunning plan to play van der Sanden (one of our spinners) to play as a specialist bat to save fatigue and still get the win :spy, we'll be looking for another win today.

Lindeman is again in the starting XI Chewie while Ruben Mol will captain the side, batting at 4 (Lindeman at 6).

Yesterday's internationals only saw Yousif play and he didn't do great only scoring 7 but took 1/44 with the ball from his 10 overs.

Today, UAE played Canada as both Yousif and Omara played for their respective nations, Yousif batting at 7 and Omara opening the batting for Canada. UAE batted first and scored 183 all out as Yousif made a duck. Omara didn't do too badly outscoring his opening partner although only made 16 and now Yousif has figures of 1/33 from 9 overs as Canada are 149/7.

Just went back to my last youth match and I did a Iridium for losing the match.

Unfortunately we lost yesterday after England went from 5/118 after 31.3 overs to finish up with 6/223. We only made 155 all out in response with Mol and Lindeman both scoring 9 runs.

Both are still likely to have their place for today's game and Mol will captain again.

In my youth game, we only managed to restrict them to 237/6 but it was a flat pitch. Bol starred, taking 3/32 from his 8 overs while Healy bowled pretty economically with 0/32 and Goedhart and Dysart took one wicket each while Lansing got hit for a bit. The skipper Young, along with Crane led the way though as we won by 8 wickets, chasing down the runs with 7.1 overs remaining, Young scoring 94, getting out in the final over, while Crane finished with 89 not out. Bleeker also made 39 opening and Curvers finished 3* ;)

Young is now less than 200 runs away from 2000 career youth runs, also two matches away from 50 games (Currently the most appearances for the club, ahead of Mol who has 44 matches).

Welcome to Liverpool Lightnings, Victor Ramoutar! :D

Yessss, my most expensive youth buy (got him for 39k) scored an unbeaten 113 off 69 deliveries on club debut in a brutal fifth wicket stand with Forsyth Kuhn that saw them amass 228 runs off just 130 deliveries to finish Liverpool's innings at 362-5. Kuhn made his debut hundred as well, scoring a top notch 159 off 97 deliveries, but eventually perished in the penultimate over of the innings.

Bowling going pretty well at this stage, Khoury is in the form of his life with 2-10 off his 4 overs as of now. And guess what? Pomersbach remains wicketless at 0-20 (5). They are currently 64-5 after 18 overs.

A big win for us after a great bowling performance from our bowlers. Our batting was solid to get us to a total of 220 odd. Lindeman and Mol both scored in the 30s while van Beeck made a solid 60. The bowling was impressive and myself and PT will like to take credit for Van Der Sanden being played instead of Oosting and bowled superbly. :p

And Bollinger's debut brought some stunning figures of 5/31 from 8.5 overs for Australia. What a great performance after being rested for the first 2 games.

Omara is back in the Canadian XI opening the batting as Sri Lanka are batting first while Yousif is playing in his third match of the tour and bowled a good first spell of 1/21 from 5 overs with 2 maidens.

I'm hoping that with these international games Lindeman will pop his experience soon. It's due a pop

----------

Also, how safe is his spot in the team?

atm, pretty safe. He's been a solid performer at 6 and as he has played in every match this tour, that pretty much tells you that. As fitness is now an issue with energetic fitness, he won't play in the final game. He would have probably got a bat higher up the order but we didn't really want to mess with what was working, with Lindeman playing well down the order. I did suggest to open the batting with him yesterday instead of Juffermans but that was the reason we didn't.

And since the batsman skills in U19 Nat cricket are so similar, you may as well just stay with what is working.

Anyway, in NAT news, yesterday:

Omara opened the batting for Canada hitting 43 to guide Canada home to a 5 wicket win, chasing down 144 so a solid performance for him.

Yousif bowled 1/37 from his 10 overs for the UAE with 2 maidens before nearly getting UAE home with 33 off 35 before not getting much of the strike at the end of the game and ended up getting out as UAE fell 5 runs short.

And I payed Frank Bollinger to lose the game for Australia :p, by not taking a wicket in his final spell when USA somehow managed a one wicket win. He scored 7 off 5 and then took 0/30 from 8.5 overs.

In today International news:

Yousif is playing in his 4th game of the tour for UAE, batting at 7 again, as UAE are batting first and are 66/1 after 19 overs. And Omara is dropped again :facepalm Like revived fitness and scored 43 yesterday, like why drop him, especially since this is the last game. And Mol will play later today, maybe against Bollinger, who has played in the last 2 games so I'm not sure.

And I forgot to set my orders for OD so I'm getting smashed. Pettinger smashed 114 off 111 while Moxly hit 46* off 34 and O'Leary made 40 as we made 331/6, but unfortunately, Pettinger was opening the bowling (poor bowling), and took 0/44 off 5 overs while Khan (atrocious bowling) who shouldn't even be in the side as a batsman is 0/38 from 3 overs. Currently they are 271/3 with a RRR of 4.36.

It's pretty nice having two players I pulled in the same U-19 team :p

I guess in the selector's eyes Lindeman>Mol? :p

Win an another game! A valiant 108 from Harry Howard was enough to prevent second consecutive victory.
