General Cricket Discussion

No complaints about flat SAF wickets eh .. every single match has been extremely high scoring. Bowlers have hardly had a chance

Come on mate only flat pitches in India are not allowed rest everywhere else its absolutely fine :)

Our local cricket club got shut down becuase we couldn't afford the coconut mat pitches and the rented "ground" we played on and the mediocre equipment we played with, due to the German board receiving 30 thousand euros per year from the ICC and not being able to fund every club. If cricket was an Olympic sport, they'd receive millions in funding from the German government, as would be the case with numerous other Associate boards.
But sure, a Test series in England every four years and the BCCI's autonomy are more important.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the ECB now publically in favour of cricket in the Olympics?

Yes, but if they and the BCCI backed it before, it could've been included in 2024. Now the wait will be longer.

5 new sports were added for the 2020 Olympics just last month, so you'd assume there's still ample opportunity to make a case for cricket being included in 2024.

BCCI still don't support it.[DOUBLEPOST=1475920646][/DOUBLEPOST]And there's no reason to assume they will.

Just check this video out... Being a Dhoni Fan, Its not easy to look at that... But hats off to the creator for his editing and music selection in the end part

Good news, my problem has always been the umpire's call rather than the technology itself (even in it's worst moments it was still better than the bumbling idiots known as humans in charge) and in an indirect way the BCCI abandoning it has actually made the tech better or so the MIT study says, looking forward to the England Tests just that much more now.

Is there any reason or anything at least unusual about in the last few recent international series of cricket have been littered with sudden batting collapses? Every New Zealand innings in their recently concluded tour of India, Both Bangladesh and England in the last test at some point in their respective innings. And now most recently Pakistan against the West Indies. You know what it wouldn't even surprise me if West Indies go out tomorrow and lose 5 wickets before they make the 60 runs or however many it is they need.

Because of the increasing playing of the T20s.. In T20s, you just hit out or get out and all the players are nowadays trying to do that in tests too..
