I don't understand why the Lodha committee is starting to control scheduling and things like that - its like everything and everyone else in our country. You get a sniff of power and lose all senses. Why should Lodha committee decide how many days of break the players and teams should get before and after the IPL?

A very interesting extract. Cricket could've expanded into continental Europe in the late 19th century, but the English desire for exclusivity didn't allow that to happen. Just imagine how big cricket would be today. It's really mouth watering.

Our local cricket club got shut down becuase we couldn't afford the coconut mat pitches and the rented "ground" we played on and the mediocre equipment we played with, due to the German board receiving 30 thousand euros per year from the ICC and not being able to fund every club. If cricket was an Olympic sport, they'd receive millions in funding from the German government, as would be the case with numerous other Associate boards.
But sure, a Test series in England every four years and the BCCI's autonomy are more important.
