I quite liking the 'Recent Matches' section they've added to the player profiles on Cricinfo. Gives you a nice quick glance at how they've performed recently so you can quickly ascertain their form.

I'm a sucker for stats and numbers :p

Matthew Hayden has a food show coming soon on the food channel hahaha

Thanks for kind words re my bowling - but it's 100% my last 4 games of professional cricket unless we make finals - maybe I have 5 or 6 left

Shane Warne won't play next year's IPL

That's 'cause people on CW are too busy talking about the effects social networking has on cricketing performance and putting all their data into a graph of some sort. They are oblivious to the existence of Cricinfo.

nah it's because they subscribe to him on twitter so get the news before Cricinfo does :p

Ian Chappell on Shane Warne's captaincy | Opinion | Cricinfo Magazine | ESPN Cricinfo

Although it is a bit disappointing that Warne never had got a chance to captain AUS more. Over the years i think fans & journalist have slightly over-exaggerate things when they suggest "if Warne didn't have his off-field issues he would have definitely skippered AUS more longer term".

In the late 90s when captained during the 98/99 tri nation series in AUS. Was mainly because S Waugh was out injured. S Waugh was already the long term ODI captain, after Mark Taylor left the post after the 1996 world cup.

Plus when S Waugh lost the job in ODIs in 2001/02. Given Warne was 32 then already & the 2003 Cup was more than likely to be his last ODI tournament. Giving the ODI captaincy to a young Ponting at the time made more sense.

The most Warne could have got i guess if his rep was squeaky clean was being Waugh & Ponting's vice-captains instead of Gilchrist & thus maybe he could have skippered a test match.

It's all a moot point anyway. Waugh and Ponting were brilliant skippers, and it's hard to see Warne out-performing the results they both achieved.

Sussex vs nottinghamshire in the county championship is being shown on sky until friday just if anyone doesn't now. I'd make the most of county championship on tv as only two games are shown a year on sky.
