In my opinion,Rudi Koertzen was one of the very best to have umpired the game. I don't recall a single instance where he got wrong decisions or was lambasted by opposition captains. In the aftermath, do feel that he never really got the praise he so richly deserved.

I was actually up late last night and came across some ideas to save ODI cricket. Let me know what you guys make of this:

1. Make these games 40 overs. 50 might be a tad too much for people to digest nowadays.
2. Trail the game with the Pink ball.
3. Have the fielding restrictions for the first 10 and last 5 overs, in between ,allow the fielding side to place them howsoever they want
4. Any 2 bowlers should be allowed to bowl 2 more than the legally allotted quota
5. Bring back the Super Sub-
   • the first super sub should be the 12th man
   • allow a second super sub- this can be anyone from the squad of 15
6. Employ these principles for the T20 format (https://www.planetcricket.org/forums/threads/the-future-of-twenty20-leagues.115499/post-3549161)
7. Scrap the ICC CT and bring back the ICC Knockout

Just answer a couple of basic questions...... Why all these talks about abandoning international Cricket didn't take place to the extent it has since the Covid times have existed?

Is it that people are too much into a zone where they only remember the recent past and there is a sort of rigidity of not wanting to come out of that zone?

Proliferation of league cricket has meant extra moolah for the players. Do remember that not every board pays its cricketers handsomely. The BCCI and Cricket in India are in a different league altogether. Even the likes of ECB and CA jointly cannot cope up with it. So. if their players are getting paid more, they would take the plunge.

I never read anything about wanting to have an end to International Cricket before all these bio-bubbles and these things existed in the world! There were always a group of people who wanted some changes and there will always be such people out there.

I feel once the schedule eases up a bit and we see less number of series clashing into each other, we would definitely see a rise in the interest of spectators.
