Oh! We are gatekeeping cricket now.
How long before other cricket boards put the BCCI in its place, by revoking NOCs for their own players to play in the IPL and basically say "unless Indian players are allowed to play other leagues, we wont let our players play in the IPL"?
Looks like the BCCI is getting away with pure dictatorship where they are not even allowing a current IPL player (MS Dhoni) to be even a 'mentor' for an overseas T20 league franchise (JSK franchise who also own CSK, want MSD to be part of their side as 'mentor'). And the likes of Suresh Raina have been crying out for so long that they want to be able to participate in overseas T20 leagues while also still having a chance to play in IPL. Why cant a retired Indian player play in IPL and overseas T20 leagues? BCCI says "Indian players must also retire from IPL, in order to be able to play overseas T20 leagues and once they do that, they cant return back into the IPL or Indian cricket in any capacity". Absolute bollocks!!

Won't happen because all other cricket boards are too reliant on money raised from Indian tours. If the ECB or Australia tried to fight back the BCCI could decide to reduce the tours they make to those countries and there wouldn't be a shortage of other boards willing to host India. They might be able to cope - cause of the Ashes - but I think the two T20s in India will fund Irish cricket for at least 12 months - possibly 2 years.
It'd take all boards standing together against the BCCI and an end result of that could be the BCCI just saying 'well, we'll have a six month IPL and see if your players want to come or not.'
Only thing that might force the BCCI to reconsider would be pressure from the private IPL money that will want them playing for their various franchises or a strong Indian players union that seeks to get some concessions from the BCCI. Another possibility would be further expansion of the IPL and boards agreeing on condition that some Indian players be allowed to play in their leagues.
It's ridiculous that Navdeep Saini and Krunal Pandya, who aren't involved in the national side, are playing 50-over cricket in a tournament the ECB don't even care about while The Hundred is going on.

But at the same time don't the BCCI rely on the same tours to generate their money? So if all nations agree to stop touring (I don't think it will ever ever ever ever ever ever ever happen, this is just a hypothetical) won't that force BCCIs hand?

Cricket in India plus the craze and the amount of people involved is huge enough to sustain on its own. There is a reason why BCCI is that ugly bully in World Cricket!!

Like @NILAYSHAH60 says, the BCCI would, probably, be fine. They could play IPL all year and show up for any international events without much impact.
Whether that would sustain interest long term is uncertain. International cricket, even meaningless bilaterals, are still big drivers of interest.

So it looks like Domingo’s job is under threat now as the Bangladeshi head coach. He’s been a very mixed bag IMO and I’ve not been a fan of him since the start. Who will want to replace him though with so much interference and noise around the side?
