General Cricket Discussion

Just watched 'Cricket Greatest Wonders & Blunders'. Funny and entertaining DVD about some of the unusual moments in cricket history.

If anyone knows where I can get highlights of the ICC Super Series and/or the Tsunami World Cricket Appeal Match, please PM me.

As per the article I have pasted above, he is still not fully assure of what Muslim name to select. Waleed is currently favorite for selection.

I think Waleed has a nice ring to it.
Can he retain his Christian last name? Since he doesn't have a muslim family name.

Also I remember my friend explaining this but I forgot. What decides whether you are called Mohammed Waleed or Syed Waleed or Waleed something.

Its a matter of choice. He can have any name, Mulsim or christian as long as it is not anti-Islamic.

I think Syed Waleed would suit him well. Sounds like a fast bowler. Speed - Syed. Is Sayeed a name? Sayeed Waleed :D

Syed is not a name. Syed is a title used for people who are descendants of Muhammad (PBUH).

Muhammad Waleed Parnell sounds pretty good to me.

Senanayake Mudiyanselage Sachithra Madhushanka Senanayake

A 26 year old, 6 foot tall offspinner (just like Randiv) who took 5 wickets against England Lions recently and has 289 FC scalps at 20.35
Also averages 19 with the bat at FC Cricket...just like Randiv.

I hope he gets a go for SL soon, if only for his name.

Randiv's full name is Hewa Kaluhalamullage Suraj Randiv Kaluhalamulla, for the record.

Yes, Senanayake is a good allrounder an off spinner and a handy lower order batsmen. I've him in my team in SLPL. Another good player is Dinuka Hettiarachchi but given his age, he is highly unlikely to play for SL. One more good player is Sachitha Pathirana.
