Formality ends!​

Right after the dinner break, players were out on the field. The body language of the Bangladeshis seemed clearly down and out. It was more of a formality now as Indian batsmen Raina and Dhoni walked out. Both of them didn't leave any scoring opportunity and went on to play their game. Raina played the role of an aggressor wile Dhoni was happy to be a nudger. Shakib hoped Shahadat Hossain might pull off a miracle as he bowled his quota of 10 overs on the trot. He couldn't do much after the break as Raina and Dhoni carried on and victory seemed nearer.

Suresh Raina was playing beautifully and India were almost there. They needed 6 runs to win and a left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak was operating. Raina tried to hit the winning runs by sending one out of the playing arena. But, Razzak was clever enough to bowl a quick delivery as he saw Raina coming down the wicket. Raina departed for a well-made 43 which included 9 glorious boundaries.

Ravindra Jadeja came out to replace Raina. He did the job by hitting 2 fours and took India over the line. India won by 5 wickets leaving Bangladesh a mountain to climb ahead. Indian skipper played an anchoring innings as he remained unbeaten on 32 runs.

The scorecards read pretty dull for the Bangladesh side but otherwise for the Indians. The scorecards -

: We're back at 'The Cricket Show'. Sunny is still here with me. It didn't take much time, Sunny?

: (laughs) Right Sanjay. It was always going to be easy for the Indians with the target they had. Still, a spirited fight by the Bangla bowlers.

: MS Dhoni once again playing an anchor role. He did play his shots early in his innings though...

: Yes, it looked as though he was trying to finish it early. But with some wickets falling he again had to curve his game. Raina was excellent though.

: Suresh Raina played well. There we can see his wagon wheel and spider -

: Look at the runs he got in boundaries. 36 off them actually. He was timing the ball well and took some pressure off Dhoni.

: The graphics below show us the how both the teams went about scoring their runs. Guide us through that Sunny.

: Well, Bangladeshis did start really well. They were 35 for no loss I think at one stage. There you can see the number of wickets they lost between 14th and 20th over. They could never really recover after that. Plus, Dinda was fabulous.

Coming to the Indians, I think they wanted to finish the game as early as possible and so threw their wickets away. In 7 overs they lost 4 wickets or so but the run-rate was very healthy. Then Dhoni and Raina did the job for them.

: Here we have the comparison of both the sides in terms of their scoring -

: Again, we can see there that the Bangladeshi run-rate never really took off and was buried at just under 4 runs per over. On the contrary, Indians just kept it hovering around that 8 run mark despite of losing wickets. They knew the target so they could manage that easily.

: There we have it then. India winning the match by 5 wickets. We'll take a short break and return with the presentation ceremony and then the wrap up talk.

: Welcome to the presentation ceremony for the Idea Cup 2010 Match 3. Bangladesh were totally outplayed by the Indians today. Congratulations to India and tough luck for the Bangladeshis. I'd request the Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan to come forward please. Shakib for a chat please?

: Yes, we didn't bat well after the start we had. Credits to Ashok Dinda the way he bowled was great.

: My next question was that itself. Middle order is a big worry for you guys...

: It is a big worry for us. Experienced players need to take up the responsibility. Our batsmen need to convert their starts to big ones which we have failed to do more than often.

: Shahadat Hossain bowled well up-front. That was the reason for you bowling him out...

: I thought if he gets us one or two more wickets, we can make a match of it. He really bowled well. Yeah, that was the reason for it. Also, we had a break so that allowed him to bowl his full 10 overs on the trot.

: Well not a good one for you today. Have a good series ahead.

: Congratulations on your second consecutive win in the series. Bowling was wonderful for you guys. Dinda was fantastic....

: Thanks Ravi! Yeah, well Dinda did bowl wonderfully well for us. He just ran through them. In the end, batsmen did the job.

: Now you have selection worries, don't you?

: Ha ha, yeah. You know, it is a good thing actually. It shows there is a good competition among the boys and that helps them to be on their toes.

: I enjoyed it very much. It was a good wicket actually. There was something there for me with the new ball and it helped a lot.

: You hit good areas consistently there. Was it a plan or the wicket thing?

: The wicket played an important part there. I just pitched the ball in right areas and wicket did the rest.
