Bangladesh Vs. Srilanka -4th ODI Preview​

Bangladesh are two down already in this series. To stay in the contention for the final, they need to win this one. It is a make or break situation for them. Some changes in the first eleven are expected.

Last loss was a bitter one for the Tigers as Ashok Dinda rip them apart. With batsmen not doing their duties, bowlers seem helpless in proving their mettle. The continuos matches won't help them either. Bangladeshis need to pull their socks up against the Srilankans who will be looking to seal the berth for the final.

Shakib Al Hasan and Coach Jamie Siddons will have some head-ache selecting the team for the 4th ODI as no one has performed upto the mark. Shakib's own form is a worry as he has also failed in the 2 matches. In the media, he said - "We are a good side. we have talented players who can turn the games on their day. We will fight back!"

Srilanka have beaten Bangladesh in the first match of the Idea Cup. Though, Bangla boys did give them hard time as it was a pretty close game. Lankans faced the defeat at the hands of the Indians in their 2nd match and will be looking to get back to winning ways against Bangladesh.

Dilshan's form has been tremendous in the series so far. He has scored 176 runs at an average of 88.00 in two games. Srilanka will look upto him once again to give them a good start along with Upul Tharanga. Middle-order looks good with Sanga, Mahela and Samaraweera. They might well give Malinga Bandara a look in here.

Shakib Al Hasan ruled out of the 4th ODI

Bangladesh suffer a huge blow ahead of the 4th ODI of Idea Cup as skipper Shakib Al Hasan pulled a hamstring during the practice session earlier today. Assistant Coach and Training head Khaled Mahmud said, "It is not much of an issue. Though, he (Shakib) will not be able to play today." Shakib was disappointed to miss out as he told the media, "I was feeling good about myself today in the nets. Unfortunately, the injury has come at the wrong time. I'm sure Mushfiq will lead the side well and hopefully he can lead us to victory too."

Coach Jamie Siddons expressed his views saying that this might be a good thing for Shakib. This rest may help him come back stronger and better. Mushfiqur is a solid player and he can captain the side pretty well. On being asked about who will replace Shakib, Jamie said, "It will be a tough choice for us. Naeem Islam is a good option seeing his all-round capabilities but we're still to decide on it."

Mushfiqur Rahim saw this as an opportunity and told that he is very excited for this experience. Shakib is a big player and we'll miss him in this match but I'll try my best as a captain. We need to win this match to stay in the competition so all the boys will give it their best shot. We know how good a side the Srilankans are but we also remember how close we got against them in the first match. We're very positive and looking forward to this encounter.
