Alonso seems to love being back in powerful car and is now on tail of Vettel. This could well be the battle of season.

I still am :p

How come there are 25 people listed there?

wow! Lotus is back?? This is news to me. And what the hell is HRT?
Hmm.. and Richard Branson gets into F1 with Virgin. This would be an exciting season.. both, at the top, and the bottom :D

lol they've got it wrongly numbered :p
They left out 13. So that's 24 drivers. Makes sense.

HRT is Hispania (formerly Campos).
Disappointing that the effect of the new rules is to make only one chance for overtaking; not even two with the second pit stop.
F1 driving shouldn't be about cutting power, saving fuel and saving tyres. The only excitement came from who would catch the broken car. It was a procession from lap 16 onwards (and only changed postions in the pits due to the new 55m release rule).

Overtaking - basically impossible.

I see he's not a fan of the new rules then.

Good start to the season and great to see Alonso start with a victory. Tough luck for Vettel but I think the Alonso+Ferrari combination is probably the best package you can have.

Vettel showed he is still going to be the man to beat today. Let's just hope his car can stay together in most of the races this season and I have no doubt he'll be winning the title. Alonso and Massa looked good but if Vettel had full power they wouldn't have come 1st and 2nd.

Nice to see a steady start for Schuey first race back.

Races are going to be so boring with limited fuel and limited overtaking. It's all going to come down to qualifying each race now more than ever. The more overtaking, the more enjoyment and more people watching.

Down here to Melbourne next. Always picture-esque. Webber will actually go into the race with a chance of winning which is good. He's choked every race so far, hopefuly it's not the same here.

just like to say that i've started an F1 2010 game on PC as there isn't a batracer yet.

you can join that if you want, i think i've found an interesting way of running it.

Good win for Button in Melbourne. Alonso was lucky to hold on to fourth with Webber taking out Hamilton towards the end. Vettel was unlucky. He was on track for a podium finish until his brakes failed.

fearsome tweak off Sydney. The GP is here to stay in Melbourne. What an amazing track and an amazing race. Shame that Webber misjudged that corner and crashed into Hamilton which and recognised and apologised for as well. I believe the strategy from Webber and Hamilton was the right thing, it's just a shame that Hamilton was too pissed off with his own team to actually make the pass.

I thought Hamilton had an excellent drive with loads of overtaking moves. But for strategy would have been a Maclaren 1-2.
That said the race was only exciting because of rain and fast drivers out of track position.

Exactly right.

Hamilton, when it was dry, was the only person overtaking. Fantastic drive. The team robbed him of 2nd place. He was catching Button very quickly. Maybe they didn't want too see the team-mates against each other - Hamilton being the better driver and all.

If Hamilton had got past Alonso - Massa would have been easy. Alonso upped his game when under pressure. Massa was lucky to have the straight line speed which made up for some awful driving.

But once again - Mclaren and strategy with Hamilton costs them. They nearly lost him is F1 title 2 years ago. He's easily the best driver in F1, with Vettel just behind. He should expects and should get better from his team.
