World Cup Group B - Pool Matches Discussion Thread

very poor start by the indians. they look lost at sea ..

^ I know, Rohit has no clue what he is doing, just swinging his bat wildly. Has been lucky with those boundaries, Irrfan totally has his number. About Dhawan the less said the better. As big a walking wicket as any ever existed

gtta feel for zim a little. after a brilliant start, getting demolished like that and batted out of the game like this

very low chances of them getting even close to this total with SAF's bowling attack

Mods ....Do us a Favour , Ban the person who were talking about Rohit and is talking about Dhawan .

whats the story behind behardien ? he seems to be in the binny mould :spy

He bowls medium pace, just tries to bowl a tight line. :)
Yeah, this made me laugh :p

Picked because this generation has no Pollock,Klusenar,Kallis,McMillan,Hall, ect type of allrounder. Nr 7 is a dillema is we either go with bits and pieces of behardien or the enigma that is parnell or go with rossouw and trust jp to bowl 10 overs.

Yes I was mentioning to a friend, how un-SouthAfrican behardien looks. Bowling at 100-105kph. Dont remember last time even a part timer medium bowler bowled at this pace for SAF.

It is a very similar dilemma because of which the Indian team is forced to pick someone like Binny

Now that the India-Pakistan game is done and dusted, normal service can resume. I think India at some point of time in their campaign will want to have Bhuvi's accuracy. Yadav picked wickets yesterday, but he was very consistently wayward. He keeps feeding the batsmen atleast 2 deliveries on the leg and gets duly thrashed. The pressure got to Shehzad that he gifted his wicket and it got even more tense for Maqsood that he also went for a wild swipe to a wide delivery. At some point, Bhuvi has to replace Yadav. Shami has to assume the role of the leader of the attack. He bowled with good pace and was far more accurate than Yadav. Mohit was also surprisingly good and in conditions like New Zealand, he can be a handful (along with Bhuvi). I sincerely hope Bhuvi is back to full fitness soon and he can come in before we get to the business end of the tournament.

Ashwin needs to be persisted with and should be told "you are the lead spinner and you will play all games unless you get injured". The guy seriously needs a promotion and given the self belief so that I can turn up more performances like the one today. He was magnificient. There are not much turn at all on this pitch (it was got slower) but he still bowled superbly with a lot of variations. If not for that batting powerplay over, his figures would have been even better. Ashwin started the rut for Pakistan with Sohail's wicket.

WI vs IRE

This could turn out to be an interesting game. But yet another team winning the toss and bowling first. 4 out of 4 failed (and almost impossible) chases

The Windies are playing this incredibly slowly
