The Hero Indian Super League is a professional football league in India. The league will be one of the top tier football leagues in India, the other being the I-League. It will feature eight franchise teams from all around India. The league will run from October to December, with a finals series determining the champion.

Atlético de Kolkata was established on 8 May 2014 as the first ever Indian Super League team. The teams name is Atlético de Kolkata due to the team being partly owned by Spanish La Liga side, Atlético Madrid.
The group which owns the team is known as the Kolkata Games and Sports Pvt. Ltd. which consists of former India cricket star Sourav Ganguly, businessmen Harshavardhan Neotia, Sanjiv Goenka,Santosh Shaw and Utsav Parekh along with few other people, as well as Atlético Madrid. Former Bolivia and Valencia manager Antonio López Habas will be the team's first head coach. The team will play their home matches at the 120,000 capacity Salt Lake Stadium within Kolkata (Calcutta).

Chennaiyin FC is an Indian Super League football franchise in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. This franchise was formed when the owners of the Bangalore franchise, Sun Group, opted out of the inaugural edition of the Indian Super League.
Abhishek Bachchan and Vita Dani are the Owners of this team. Italian World Cup winner Marco Materazzi was hired as player-manager. Chennaiyin FC will play their home matches at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium which has a seating capacity of about 40,000.

If they want to increase support in India they would try and firstly get a big European club to do a pre-season tour there instead of this rubbish.

I can almost guarantee you Thierry Henry won't take part in this, New York Red Bulls didn't let him stay at Arsenal past early February two seasons ago, keep dreaming for March.

Unlikely. Only decent stadiums with proper turfs on are in Kolkata, Goa, Delhi and Pune in a recent rise. Just like the last time they might scrap all franchises and base them in either Goa or Kolkata.
