"LOST" creator Damon Lindelof wants to watch Endhiran ! :D

Wooppppiieeeeee.... Why does he have to travel that far to watch the film. He can watch it at a nearby theatre for $30-40. Yes the ticket prices for Endhiran/Robot are that high. I just got 4 tickets today for the Saturday October 2nd show at 1pm (for the Tamil version) and the ticket price here is $25 per person. INCREDIBLE HIGH PRICE! And when I told it to my friends here who want to join me for the film, they said "AREY, I AM WILLING TO DOLE OUT EVEN $40-50 FOR THIS".

This film is making non-Indian people talk animatedly about Indian cinema. My American friends have already asked me umpteen times about the film's release and will be joining me for the show on Saturday. Rajnikanth rocks!

but the REAL experience of thalaivar's star power and the crazy fans can only be witnessed in Tamil Nadu. ;)

btw, whats the ticket price for an average hollywood movie ?

Here, average Hollywood movies are priced at $7-10. If you watch it in IMAX, its $14. I watched Avatar 3D on the first day for $15 (when Avatar released, it was the most expected Hollywood film). I dont think any Hollywood movie here touches $20. Its really hard for a family of four if you want to watch "Robot" because $100 disappears from your pocket for the film (including snacks and gas/petrol expenses)

Here people are ready to celebrate the film like how it is done in South India. The confetti throwing, whistling all will be done here. For Sivaji, I could not hear 75-80% of the dialogues in the theatre due to the constant howling and whistling from fans. For Robot, it will be 5x bigger. But still, the experience is to be cherished.

wow!! so, if i keep the 10$ ticket as 150Rs. (average multiplex cost)
25$ roughly equals to 400rs. LOL! that IS pretty expensive.
thats like paying for GOLD Class in PVR / Fame.

btw, which is the common favourite indian film among the white boys / non-indians ?

Could be "Robot" soon enough, but I guess Lagaan is a film that I guess many non-Indians like. Its all going by the reviews I have heard from some non-Indian guys on the intenet (e.g. YouTube, forums, etc). I know the people of Japan are crazy about Rajnikanth's "Muthu" (Muthu Maharaja in Hindi).

If you could not hear 70-80% in Sivaji then what will happen if a movie is half decent. :laugh

I spend 1200 bucks per movie with my friend and 600 with my gf. So 25$ cant be expensive :p

I loved Sivaji, tastes differ Sid. I have seen the times atleast 10 times (maybe even more). I watched it in the original language that it was intended. You watched a dubbed version. That difference can be huge. The impact can be easily lost in translation from one language to another. Thats why dubbed movies most often dont do well (except rare ones like Roja, Bombay, etc).

Translation does not make change to story and acting though. :p

It makes a difference between an average film and a good film. The impact of the dialogues (if written in the language in which the film was originally intended) and if spoken by people who know the language better, makes a significant difference. Rajnikanth speaking Tamil and Rajnikanth speaking Hindi in two different films, the impact is so different.

I know of people who dont like Sivaji. But there are numerous people who loved it. Thats why its among the top 3 South blockbusters, and did that well in the North without subtitles.

Watched Sunny Deol's Right Ya Wrong on DVD. I just cant believe I missed such an Excellent movie when it got released. Also cant believe that such a movie vanished from the theatres so quickly here.

If any of you guys want to watch a Good thriller movie.....Kindly watch it atleast now. Viewers who are interested in Investigations, Enquiries, Court scenes :D will certainly take a liking to this movie. Good performances by Sunny, Irfan, Konkona Sen. In fact, Sunny is a revelation. For major part of the movie he is on the wheel chair....acting with great restraint...cool as a cucumber.

Doesnt mean that there is no negatives. The film gets a bit boring when Sunny is paralysed. But the director gets back on track with twists after twists. I was just glued to the screen for most part of the movie wondering what happens next. :D Also the climax is a bit dragged. The movie should have ended quickly just after the final court scene.

The movie also drives home a point the loopholes in the Indian Law, Enquiry, Investigation systems. i.e Sunny Deol, who was once the Protector of Law, uses such tactics (loopholes) and easily fools the Law. Fool Proof Murder plan as he says.....:D

Must Watch!!! :)

For some reason, whenever I think of sunny deol, I automatically end up wrinkling my nose! :p
I mean like sunny deol has become a joke now. I haven't watch Right ya Wrong, but I can say some of his more recent movies have been dastardly!

The trailer of Guzaarish looks very promising. :)

Right Yaa Wrong was actually a decent movie from Sunny. He was decent in it. I am not a big fan of him, but I liked him in it.
