Nice @Hydron ?

Kabali is a good film if you watch it without the expectations behind a Rajinikanth film. Its a slow emotional drama where Rajini plays his age without much of his speed and punches. Also it does not have a fast paced screenplay. But it impresses in parts, mainly for its socio-political subtexts.

Actually its the other way round - watch it if you are not a Rajni fan. There is nothing in it for Rajni fans, but it did have some interesting backdrop (Dalit subtext, supression of lower caste, etc.).

In office, so just saw bits of it without audio. But even that looked super promising. The theme (wrestling) is similar to Sultan. This one talks about women empowerment and supporting the upliftment of women. Sultan was totally different in that aspect, as it was a more masala movie featuring Sultan the wrestler (Salman). Dangal is more about Aamir playing coach to the girls. We did have two Bhagat Singh movies release same day. Why can't two different wrestling films release in the same year?

Actually Sultan was the exact opposite of women empowerment message ..

It was Aarfa's dream to win the gold for india, but she could not pursue it because she got knocked up by Sultan and then he started getting all the glory.

Dangal is more on the chak de level .. a failed/disgraced player coaching girl(s) to live through their glory

No no, I did not mean at all that both films are same or both cannot be doing well. I meant Sultan was a overall a wrestling movie of a fighter down and out who rises up again & Dangal as you said is about Women Empowerment. Many people in industry who have watched Dangal have already said that its the film of the year. Fantastic piece,etc
