Hindi Cinema Discussion

My Name Is Khan was alright.

but there were some stupid stuff in it e.g.

Character of Shah Rukh khan (Rizwan) was shown to meet Obama as soon as he was selected as President. Since he has not assumed office at that time, he was only president elect and not the real president. Still he was shown and called as President. Meaning he was not able to meet real president at all.

And how the hell did Rizwan son got a PSP before 9/11:confused:.

And that part with the floods in the village was just useless..it wasn't needed and its funny how Rizwan and his friends was the only people helping them and not the goverment lol.

So I will give it 7/10..overall it was a good movie and great acting by shahrukh Khan.

3 Idiots > MNIK

I know they're different genres but IMO MNIK is overrated.

Yes, thats the reason why some people are not liking it as much. In terms of the messages that were conveyed through the film, MNIK >>>>> 3 Idiots, but the raving that people gave for it and went out of their way to praise it, it always works against the film.

But comparison of 3ID and MNIK should not be done because they are different genres. Karan said before the film came that he is not making it with the intent of competing with 3ID.

I'll have to disagree here. In terms of the messages conveyed, MNIK = 3 Idiots. The way 3 Idiots potrayed the dire state of our educational system was awesome! And the same goes with the issue MNIK tried to highlight. Both the messages touched my heart! But yeah, you're right. We can't compare the two films. They are of different genres and tbh, both rocked!

All I can say it that Floods part in MY Name Is Khan was just stupid.
And their son using a PSP before 9/11 lol.

PSP came out in 2005/06

That doesnt hurt the film much. Its just a video game, and people wont be really concerned regarding the reality of when that equipment was actually released and why it has been used in this situation, etc.

If you really wanna watch good films go for Harishcharachi factory and/or Jogava both are awesome :hpraise Must Watch Dude :)

Not much a Marathi movie fan, not at all.

But read reviews of Harish...seems a nice movie.

Well there are at least 10 more incidents. Biggest was why did Kajol marry SRK?

Are you really serious about this? I mean, he shows her something in SFO that she has not seen before. And even before that, she starts to really like him (remember that scene near the lake where she stars at him and then they sing 'Hum Honge Kaamyab'). In fact the scene where Kajol asks SRK to marry her is probably the best and most feel good scene of the film.

:laugh It looks good in movies only.
Show lady the city Manhattan covered in morning fog. :facepalm

MNIK was cheesy as hell. I enjoyed the first half to an extent but from there it was all downhill.

I'll use spoiler tags as I don't want to ruin it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet.

- How the hell does one die if you get kicked in the chest with a soccer ball.

- They lived in California. The most liberal, most accepting state and people in the entire country. Incidents of racism there are almost unheard of. No way would they beat little kids up just because they were brown. If it was texas or the deep south I would understand, but this simply doesn't make sense. Once again portrays the (good) American people as villains.

-How quickly did he travel from LA - Georgia, that too via bus. Almost instantly. And Instead of going to that little town and getting people out, he just did random work.

- Another thing, how does an Autistic man do so much physical labor, that too in the middle of a hurricane

- how did everyone seem to understand his Hindi, even the African-Americans. Even the news channels were Hindi.

I'll add more stuff later. The movie was not delivered very well.
