Hindi Cinema Discussion

Read the reviews of 'Kites'. Looks like a major disappointment. Well, I expected that seeing the trailers itself (which were quite uninspiring).

By reading the reviews till now, It is a major disappointment. Most of the viewers said that it is crap.

So bad reviews.:p

Come'on guys, Kites is really fantastic. My 5 friends went today and were very positive at the end. I have already booked a ticket for tomorrows Show :D

Strange to see that all the movies which looked hopefull are getting dissapointed remarks.
Housefull, Badmaash Company and now Kites. (I hope this doesn't happen to Ravana or Rajneeti as I'm going to watch them in the coming future.)

I knew it. The trailer looked ordinary, and it seemed that the film was just another stupid love story having a lot of songs/dances and stuff but very little substance. Might ride on Hritik's star factor and do well at the box office for a week or so before falling flat eventually.

The reason why kites is not doing well is because the story is typical run of the mill Bollywood Masala movie. I think the audiences have matured and enjoy new original stories rather than mashed up repeated story line which has been going on forever.

Hitty-Kites is just crap.
0.1/5.

Cancel your tickets, I didn't like it. Even Housefull was way better than this.

Hrithik says that Kites is only meant for western style audience.:doh
Now, was that an excuse ?

Poor poor excuse. From the trailer and scenes that I saw, it is so clear that the film was made to reach out big to the international audience. But if it was only for them, why bother releasing a version for the Indian audience (they are anyway releasing a far shorter version for the intl audience)?

Will watch the movie tomorrow. Frankly, not interested but just for HR.

I am back after watching Kites. And to surprise you all, I rather liked the movie. I was expecting it to be trash after hearing from a couple of friends who saw the movie yesterday. I'll be honest and say that it's not a 'fantastic/awesome' movie, but it's definitely worth watching. Mori is a very good actor, I must say. Hrithik was okay. The story goes into the past and present very often, and it is sometimes very difficult to understand whether it's the past or present. You only seem to find the answer to the previous questing when the past-present interchange amongst themselves. The end is very unusual, keeping in mind it's a Bollywood movie.

Those who watch English movies quite often, will definitely like this movie. Whereas, those who only watch Bollywood movies may not like it. I being the former, liked it.

My Rating : 2.8/5

IIFA awards to be held in SL this year, awesome!!! I heard there's going to be a match between a bollywood XI and SL is it true or just a rumor?

There is a controversy going on in India because of this function being held in Sri Lanka. After the bloody Tamil Eelam war, there is heavy pressure on all Bollywood artists not to visit Sri Lanka. In fact, Mani Ratnam's "Raavan" was to be screened there but its been pulled off. Most likely, people like Amitabh, Aishwarya Rai, etc might not come because of this.
