Hindi Cinema Discussion

SRK is a better entertainer.

Om Shanti Om was a great movie, what is wrong with you guys! He went over the top with the 6pack thing but great story imo.

I think we were talking just in terms of acting. SRK definitely has a bigger fan following along with more commercial hits to his name.

I definitely beg to differ. I respect your opinion. But to be honest with you, my personal opinion is the movie's storyline was extremely weak. I do not want to compare films, because each film is based on a different theme. But then compare his performance in Chak De and OSO.

I definitely liked seeing SRK as a middle aged man fighting with his own inner demons than him acting as the supposedly uber cool Om Kapoor in OSO. Not saying OSO was terrible, it did have its moments. But overall storyline I personally felt was weak.

OSO was full on bakwas like other movies from Sajid-Farah Khan stable. Only good movie to come out of them was Main Hoon Na and that too was overboard.

Rajneeti looks mouth watering considering the type of Hindi movies I have been watching for lats 4-5 years.

Pretty much right but are the controversies that Rajneeti is facing?

The movie will be interesting, because it chronicles somewhat the life of Rajiv Gandhi. I am looking forward to Mani Ratnam's Raavan. I expect him to come up with some good stuff! :thumbs

If Raajneeti releases here in theatres, I am going for it next weekend (so will I go for Raavan which I think should come here too). Two movies this summer month! Both highly expected. Hope both are big hits.

Finally saw Kites today. I had pass for its premiere but had to miss due to work. I will again go against all and say I liked it. I love tragic love stories.

First half was boring and I had decided to leave considering the reviews by members here but some how my friend managed to keep me seated.

I loved the ending but how on earth J reached Mexico? :p

Not really excited about Ravan.

Only thing good about Ravan to me is its music. Mark my word, it will be flop.

Finally someone has the same feelings as mine. If you read a few pages earlier, I liked Kites as well.

And yeah, Raavan will definitely be a flop.

Marked! If it succeeds, hope you dont mind me having digs at you (which I will!):D

May I sincerely know why you feel Raavan will be a flop (@sid)? Its not a 'wanna be Hollywood' film (that Kites tried to be). Its going to be the Indian biriyani served in high quality, not the pasta that Hrithik promised (it was so cheap of Hrithik to give such an example for Kites not being favored by the Indian audiences. He questioned their tastes:mad::facepalm). Anyways, this was the same guy that got upset that he didnt win the National award and he had to be cajoled by SRK that he is the best (Hrithik thinks he is too big of himself).

Okay lets not get into a game of prediction. A movie can go either way. I personally respect Mani Ratnam's work and expect him to come with the goods.
Plus I really want Ravaan to be really good, because the movies off late :facepalm
I mean I cannot seem to remember any good movie that strikes out this year
