Homework

Had a maths test today. An assessment task they called it. Wasn't all that hard, hoping I did good.

Also had an assessment task in English. Had to write a letter to the Chief Justice of NSW in class. Wrote about 2 pages, and I thought it was decent enough.

We are writing screenplays/script. And i have to do a freaking divorce scene. How am I suppose to do that!?!?
Some 1 help! Tell me how a divorce works, what happens during a divorce, who's there, where are they, what do they do, what do they speak! I need a lawyer!!! Wait, lawyer right? Or some 1 else?

see i have 0 idea about this

Got a stupid Science project, more like an Engineering one IMO
We have to create a machine that lifts 250 grams to a height of 10cm and we have to combine 2 simple machines to make it. Right now i'm thinkin about combinin a pulley and a ram, maybe a lever later on and just make a simple machine, ideas would help

Have a history essay; which is "did ivor williams(soldier, who got shot in the arm once and had a bullet go through the top of his hat etc and served from 1915-1918 so saw WW1 fully)/John monash(very very famous commander WW1, even a university is named after him) have a good war?

That was all a bit messy but I still want you to read it so it stands "did ivor williams/John monash have a good war"?

I am all a bit confused with a question. How the fling can you have a good war?

Colin could you help me out? :p

I have my AP World History exam tomorrow. Should probably go study...

Need to go over some of the Chinese dynasties and what they did a fair bit. And I haven't covered much of the stuff in general from 1914 (start of WWI) - Present...

What do you mean by "combine 2 simple machines"?

I would just make a mechanism out of a large and small pulley, with a handle on the smaller one and a rigid platform connected with some wire.

Simple machines like inclined plane/ramp, levers, pulleys, wheel and axle etc
We have to combine 2 simple machines and there has to be a good mechanical advantage

Your one actually looks pretty good, a lever and a pulley, don't really get the bottom pic

I'm having trouble figuring out what string i'm gonna use, I was thinking Copper wire or somethin and the machine also has to be able to have a spring balance attached

Also, how com there are pulleys on both sides, wouldn't the weight only be attached to one side? and not really sure how i would make the smaller pulley and attach it to the side and still make it be able to turn

We're not allowed to use any commercial equipment either

Thanks a lot for the help

I have 2 pulleys there so that it doesn't bend the joint. It also provides stability for the seat.

You can see that 2 wires are connected to the seat (the bottom pic), this arrangement makes it so that the seat can't tip over.

I am not sure how the bottom pulley is supposed to be connected either, lol. You might have to make 2 pulleys there as well, connect them through the block with a shaft.

For the wire a nylon string is enough, they are really strong. 250g isn't heavy anyway. I suggest you to not use copper or steel wire, they can't bend easily.

What do you mean by a spring balance?

this (spring balance) will be hooked to the end of the string and then the 250g mass will be hooked to that. Yeah, good idea, i'll use nylon string
I reckon a ramp with a pulley would be easier, something like this:

Although which would have a better MA?

Can some 1 post 2 sports articles with Social Commentary and 1 with Science Articles

homework sucks.
Research projects or essays would be alright I guess (which I don't get to do), but doing assignments is a really annoying task.
