How are you doing in ICC? (any version)

Well I wouldn't say my lineup is too bad either. Here it is with FC and OD statistics. I pretty much use the same lineup for each but I'll put them in 2 different lineups with the statistics so far this season (International statistics included). Dobson is an unbelievable player though. Look at his conversion rate.

lol. I decided to give Ben Harmison a match in the One Day with it pretty much sealed. I didn't bowl too well, as they scored 247 in their 40 over's. In the end, I only got there with 3 wickets in hand, and 3.5 overs remaining, with Ben Harmison scoring 102*. I brought him in for Dobson so he could have probably did something like that anyway but it doesn't matter.

This is my default Durham team for season five:

1. Regen batsman with a 2nd team batting average of 79
2. Gareth Rees - FC batting average of 41
3. Regen batsman with a FC batting average of 53 (and a 2nd team batting average of 86)
4. David Wiese - FC batting average of 41 and FC bowling average of 25
5. Regen batsman with a FC batting average of 46 (and a 2nd team batting average of 73)
6. Regen AR with a 2nd team batting average of 65 and a 2nd team bowling average of 20
7. Luke Wright - FC batting average of 38 and FC bowling average of 37
8. Regen WK with a FC batting average of 42
9. Liam Plunkett - FC batting average of 24 and FC bowling average of 29
10. Graeme Onions - FC batting average of 11 and FC bowling average of 27
11. Mark Davies - FC batting average of 10 and FC bowling average of 24

Bench:

Kyle Coetzer - FC batting average of 40
Will Smith - FC batting average of 34
Regen batsman with a FC batting average of 45 (and a 2nd team batting average of 62)
James Harris - FC batting average of 20 and FC bowling average of 30
Ajmal Shahzad - FC batting average of 31 and FC bowling average of 39

Our bowling has been our major problem, as there has been very few bowler regens.
I missed out of getting Finn in the latest auction, I bid on him first round for $2,500 more than his expected salary, and he went to Essexz straight away without even asking me for a raise.
Outside him there have been no decent bowlers on the domestic or youth auction lists at all.

I'm playing every match so I'm only now at the end of Season 2 (I'm now in the SF of the CT and the second last match in the CC).

I don't have much time to play ICC atm though I got to about 2013 I think with Durham. Most of my time playing it is for the two stories. And that's hardly anything.

Dale Steyn just hit 44* off 35 balls in the Challenge Trophy final to get me to 224/6 from my 40 over's and now that will be hard to chase down. Mustard hit 46* off 30 as well and Dobson continued his splendid form with another fifty. In Dobson's last 8 innings, he has scored: (Recent first)

59 (OD Final), 64 (FC), 67 (FC), 51 (OD SF), 372* (FC), 88* (OD), 102 (FC), 36 (FC), 61 (FC)

Nice dominant performance against MCC to start the season. Won by an innings and 388 runs. Batted first, made 618/3 declared at the end of day 2. Benkenstein made 218*, McCulloch 200* and Di Venuto, Coetzer and Dobson all scored 50. Their first innings, bowled them out for 136, Aamer 6/41, Harmison 2/41. Enforced the follow on and went for a win and bowled them out for 94, Onions 5/51, Aamer 4/18.

Just finished season five, got 1st in FC, 1st in OD, and 2nd in T20. (skipping matches)
Beacuse of Durham already having the most money (base money), and all the bonus money from how I went, my squad is now god like.

Signed this youth DOM AR last season for $30,000 on a three year deal, he averaged over 50 with the bat and under 25 with the ball, now his recommended salary is over $100,000, but for the next two years I'll only be paying him $30,000. :laugh

Still got David Wiess as my overseas player, all $132,500 of him.

I'm pretty sure the ENG contract players are stuffed up, Liam Plunkett just got a contract for the first time, he was absolute rubbish for me last season, and hasn't even played for ENG in the whole game. Yet I have all these DOM players that I'm paying $70,000 - $100,000, completely owing up the domestic scene, even though I'm skipping matches, so they would probably be 20% better if I was actually playing.

Still no good regen bowlers have come along, so my bowling's a bit weak, but both my opening bowlers are AR's who bat five and six, so yeah.

Missed out on another gun DOM player. He was asking for $70,000, so I offered him $2,500 more than that, but he straight away went to another club without even asking for me to raise my offer, I hate it how that happens in ICC 2010.

My lowest payed player is some 20 year old leg spinner with a second team average of 20, who I'm paying $37,500, mainly because he was the BEST bowler on the DOM auction page.

Sorry about that having no order, I was just posting random stuff in no order.

It's normally quite easy to tell who are gun players by checking their salaries, unless they haven't played many matches yet :)

The problem with me is that I normally salary cheat in English Domestic Cricket to get better players :spy

This AR guy only had a salary of $30,000 however, but in one season it's ballooned out to over $100,000, lucky I signed him for three seasons on $30,000.
I normally just look at 2nd team averages, IMO they tell you more about the player than their salary does.
Also I look at what age they are, e.g. if there is a 20 year old asking for 50k, I'll normally get them, compared with I'll normally just ignore a 35 year old asking for 60k.

I never cheat. :facepalm

The reason I skip games is because I don't have enough time to sit down and play full FC matches one after the other, I find it more interesting selecting my playing XI, and trying to build up a dominant squad.

ATM I have four games:

South Australia skip game - Bad team I'm trying to make competitive
Durham skip game - Great team I'm trying to make invincible
Lancashire play game - Just what I use if I want to play games, as they're my favourite county
Worcestershire play game - Story
I'll make a NZ save soon with your roster.

Use 2nd team averages. They normally show how good a player is. Anyone under 45, disregard for batting and over 30 I think, disregard for bowling.

I play every game in my Durham save. I don't like losing cause of skipping and it wrecking my young players averages.

Same as me. For youth players you can't use the salaries because they haven't played enough matches.

I have like 10 saves :/

Durham
Worcestershire
Tasmania
2 NZ saves (one with my roster, one without)
Australia
Then about 5 i don't really play (Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Bangladesh, and something else)

For me I discard anyone with under 55-60 batting, and anyone over 22 or so bowling. :p
I could just be getting really lucky with my regens, but five seasons in all my batsmen have 2nd team averages of over 60, and all of my bowlers bar one have 2nd team averages of under 20. (IIRC)

Yeah I know, but TBH I don't really mind.
I know that when I win two competitions and come 2nd in the other one skipping matches, my team is pretty dam strong.

You guys are making me want to start my Durham save all over...

Chewie added 0 Minutes and 27 Seconds later...

I play my worst XI in T20's and skip them so I don't ruin the top players' form.

That's actually not a bad idea. They lose so much form and fitness playing t20
