As with those who's already posted in this thread I've been doing an SA save. Has been one of the best games I've played on ICC to be honest. Here's my current team.
My FC
Smith
Harris/Moffat
Ferguson
Klinger (c)
Dyer
Cranmer
Mower
Whitehead
Chamberlain
Bailey
George
Not got a bad FC team. Hell of a lot better than it was a couple of seasons ago where I failed to pick up a single point throughout the whole season, 2012.
Smith wasn't in the team for quite a few years but he had a very good season when not in the team at Grade cricket so I brought him in and he's been pretty decent at the top of the innings averaging 35 with 6 centuries.
Harris has been the mainstay at the top of the innings for me as he's been there pretty solidly since the first season with a decent average of 31. But of late he's started to get challenged from Moffat who's had two very strong seasons playing Grade level cricket. Only averages 23 at FC level however as of yet.
Ferguson is just Ferguson. He always there but is the most inconsistent player I've ever had really. One season he's abysmal averaging as lowly as 19 for a whole season which he then followed up by averaging 55 which included a brilliant 258.
Klinger is probably been the best batsman for me over the years, solidly averaging 40-50 most years for me. Captain as well.
Dyer is a regen who has done solidly at grade level averaging 40 but has played above his ability at State level. He's played 32 games for me and averages 38 with 7 centuries. Is a spin specialist which is useful for a middle order batsman and can roll his arm over for a few Off Spinners every now and again. Has 10 wickets at 49.
Cranmer is a bit like the opposite of Dyer in that he hasn't really played to his potential as of yet. For grade level he averages 52 but has only converted this into 34 at state level with 4 centuries. Scored a brilliant 175 from 200 balls last season though which is promising. Can also bowl a bit with some handy right fast mediums. 5 wickets at 121 isn't the best though.
Mower is a regen who only just came through this year averaging 62 and taking over four catches a match which is alot better than any other keepers regens or otherwise that I've had at SA since the beginning. Hopefully he can convert it into State cricket.
Whitehead is another regen who's only just came through this year who looks like a very strong up and coming allrounder. Very defensive batsman who averaged 47 in second team cricket and bowls fast at an average of 19 at grade level. Got 5 wickets at an average of 19 after his first match.
Chamberlain is another regen who came through last season and is extremely good. Second team average of 16 bodes very well for the future as does his second team batting average of 31. A very strong first season saw him average 32 with 43 wickets. One thing that I have noticed is that he is extremely economical so I just give him the second most aggressive field every time he comes onto bowl and rarely goes above 3 an over. In one innings he bowled 30 overs for 34 runs and 3 wickets.
Bailey is the teams spinner. Although 39 is quite high for an average its been coming down year on year. Last years 48 wickets at 28 was a major reason we won three games last year.
Finally there is George. His average of 37 is high but that is mainly because hes been there since the beginning where we'd get trounced regularly buts it coming down now and other bowlers have developed and supported him.
This started out as a basic overview but I got going a bit and its became a bit in depth
Hopefully this year I can progress. Not as bothered on One Day games so I shan't go into details on that although we've probably had our best achievement in that format when we came second. Also managed a third in the Twenty20 as well which was a decent effort but its probably better to do well in that format. Basically if Blizzard fires we win. Shame its not very often when he does.
