2015 World Cup Final

Zimbabwe, armed with luck and a decent bowling lineup, versus the Australians, winners of the previous four World Cups. Zimbabwe look to be the losers already but they won the toss and sent the Aussies in on a flat track.

Australia started horribly with Hughes (0) caught lbw by Rainsford (1-43) and Charleston (35) and Clarke (70) taking a while to get a move on. The two put on 50 before Charleston fell. Bowen (36) stuck with Clarke before falling before his half century. Ferguson (54) helped to ease the score to a decent mark, but Mupariwa (4-40) decided that Zimbabwe need some silverware.

Zimbabwe needed to make use of the flat wicket and took to the Aussie bowlers after the first five overs. Light (45) tried to reach a fourth 50 for the tournament but fell to Butterworth (2-32). But the wickets kept falling and Zimbabwe couldn't hold a partnership. Taibu (47) and Chibhabha (27) tried to spark the lower order but Johnson (3-44) and Harkan (3-33) worked well bring the Zimbabweans down and win with 7 overs and 36 runs to go.

Australian Batsman of the WC: Hughes (384 runs @ 42.67)
Australian Bowler of the WC: Harkan (26 wickets @ 11.42)
Player Of The 2015 World Cup: Brad Harkan (158 runs @ 26.33 & 26 wickets @ 11.42)

Why do you use Weston as your main wicketkeeper and BJ Watling as your reserve, when Weston is designated as a part time wicket keeper and Watling is a full time one?

In my 2030 season as Surrey, one of my partnerships went into the Historical records. ( Previously in 2018 also it had happened )

McKay_Stranded_on_99.jpg

This was in one of the warmup matches in the Ashes. McKay and Rimmington put on a 130 run partnership but Rimmington finally was dismissed for 70 and Laughlin could only survive 34 balls and McKay was left stranded on 99*.

Hmm we seem a bit too good for my liking haha. Need to adjust ratings somewhat. In the coming seasons, it'll be interesting to see how the younger players come through because their ratings are pretty decent. And in the patch Franklin>Vettori>Oram with respect to batting but meh.

I rate them the other way around, Oram>Vettori>Franklin...:p
I think the average's have been pretty fair, over the 3/4 of a season I have played.
I still have a real problem with our openers. I have tried about five over the three series I have played, How, Guptill, Redmond, McIntosh and Watling, and they have all failed... :(
Just going on statistics, I would reduce McCullum's rating, while up Taylor and Oram's batting rating.
The bowling ratings all seem to be fine.

hmmm I'll see. It wouldn't be accurate if you didn't have opener problems! :P

Dont know if this is the right thread but I am sure I will soon find out: is there any other way to influence a batsmen chances than just fiddling with aggression. I mean with bowling I can adjust line and length and set the field which gives me huge options of influencing a game but with batting it seems a bit one dimensional. Maybe I am doing the wrong things but help and advice (apart from sod-off) would be greatly appreciated!:)

Yeah, I'm not complaining about the opener problem... :p
I know it's true, and it probably always will be.

Don't mean to be spamming this thread, but I got through the group stages of the 2011 world cup.
I lost just two out of my six games, and in the end finished second behind the West Indies.
I now have quarter-final, against my arch rivals Australia.

The only surprise in the quarter-finals is Bangladesh being there, at the number one ODI side South Africa's expense.

In breaking news Australia has posted 235 all out in the second to last over, in their quarter-final against New Zealand.
Daniel Vettori took two for 39 off his ten over's, while Kyle Mills took three for 29 off nine.

New Zealand's pose a strong batting line-up which is:
Gupill, Watling, Ryder, Taylor, Williamson, McCullum, Franklin, Oram, Vettori, Mills, Bond

tweaking HELL. I just wrote for around 20-30 minutes and I accidently pressed backspace which made me go back a page. I tweaking hate this. I just wrote up 4/5 of my Bangladesh first season.

Lol, gutted.

I'm in my fifth season in charge of New Zealand.
If I remember right, we're still ranking 7th in tests and 2nd in one-day internationals...
