Great to have my math's exam finished! it was awful though. Next up is English. Grammar is easy but the poem "The West Wind" is a bit difficult. Should have learnt it before, how careless of me. :facepalm

Don't knock on Physics dude. Love it. Especially particle physics, gives me a hadron.

This is a pro post and its a shame that it ended up in a thread full of people that won't get it...

Physics is the best science and anyone who doesn't like it is just plain wrong. Wouldn't study it at uni mind; but I do have my Advanced Higher Physics to be proud of. Discovered in sixth year that my teacher (who has a PhD) is married to a woman who is a doctor twice (MD and PhD). It was Dr McDonald and Dr Dr McDonald; which is insanely cool especially since he was a really cool dude who was fine going off topic to talk about some really random area in physics if someone asked...

jokes, what are they?

I'm majoring in Engineering Physics at uni and it's a bliss. When it comes to uni, I've always known that I can't major in anything except Maths or Physics.

It's purely just a matter of opinion. I'd take Chemistry or Biology any day over Physics.

I stopped Physics at the end of high school which was a relief, but I am a bit pissed that I didn't get to study more Quantum Physics and deeper Particle Physics.

I really enjoy Physics, especially Mechanics. Whenever I get my scores for a JEE preparatory test. Physics is usually my personal best with around 70% and my worst is Chem around 40%

Particles and Quantum Phenomena are just awesome and also waves if you can ever manage to get your head around phase difference and all that malarkey. But when you finally realise you understand everything, I'd say you get the best satisfaction out of any other science (all of which I take for A level, so I'd like to think I'm not speaking out of my arse :) ).

Advanced Higher is a little higher than A Level (First Year of Scottish Uni equivalent; so First year of a four year BSc); so I'm guessing that they're pretty similar. I always liked physics because it was a genuine challenge; but a challenge that meant something because you were calculating real world things. It wasn't just maths because you had to think - pretty much all of physics is thinking, knowing the relationships behind physical quantities and being able to work out what equations and stuff to use involved thinking especially after Intermediate 2 Physics... Apparently; as soon as you get to the final few years of Undergrad physics they go "remember these things that you were taught at school and in First Year? Well, actually that's all wrong!", so a warning if you're planning to do it at higher levels!

Can someone suggest me a good comprehensive Organic Chemistry guide with detailed mechanisms for the JEE?
Try Solomons Fryhle! Its a detailed organic chemistry book, Mechanisms, theory are best explained IMO. But the problem with the book is, It has too much (which is not at all good for last minute prep).

Anyways, for me, Chemistry (especially organic, inorganic & Thermo) & Computers, especially the part where mathematics & computer science intersects (Advance Computing). Tools like vectors, Matrices & probability, they come in real handy.

Morrison & Boyd? I'm probably the wrong person to ask since I don't have much experience with JEE guides. :p

Hate Physics with a passion. I mean Astro is ok and Particle is not too bad but electricity is a nightmare. Had the rubbish about conductor and transformer and all. One of my mosted hated subjects.

I would have to say Maths is my favourite. Love slowing a hard equation or question. It is the only subject I don't mind revising. I mean Statistics is boring but I love stuff like imaginary numbers, Integration and Differentiation and all. Really looking to stuff like Ecometrics next year.

I bought Solomon and Frhyle for the JEE by Wiley India. Explanations are good. I'm combining them with my class notes to make my own. I need to somehow get over my chemistry fear before 6th.
