So I gave my JEE-Mains.

210 marks if I go by the resonance answer key.

I'm expecting around 91-92% in my boards but I have no idea what sort of rank that will get me, hope its under 10k.

Going by the FIITJEE answer key I'm getting 192, should have got around 240. All those mistakes!! :facepalm :(

Yeah same here I lost around 35 marks in silly calculation mistakes, I want to bang my head in a wall somewhere because it was so bloody easy:mad

And on that note there were too many lengthy calculations ffs, they actually expect us to know the value of e^0.4(but I remembered a few log values so I sort of guessed the range of values b/w which it would lie, and eliminated the options from there).

But I wasted a lot of time in trying to guess the range, they really should have given it in the question.

----------

And I read cylinder not 'hollow' cylinder in another question, ha

----------

Just checked the FIITJEE answer key, there's another bonus in there, I'm getting 215 if thats correct.:p

Same mistake!! I considered a solid one and got 2g/3 :(

Oh dear! I thought I was doing something wrong! :facepalm. I did get a e^0.4 term

Should be able to make up in Advanced where they ask more questions from Mechanics, Magnetism, Calculus, Complex and Vectors, instead of those shitty small chapters. I guess I'm more in my comfort zone now.

According to last year's results, should be around 15K*.

*for CBSE board

If a question's wrong then everyone gets awarded marks, that's what has happened in the last few years IIRC.

Damn I hate normalization, tweaking knew something like this would happen

One advantage for me is I'm from Mah State Board where the percentages are abysmally low.

For CBSE for coming in the top 20% you had to score 73% but for our board it is 61% (last ray of hope for me)

Corrected. There's a whopping 15% difference. I hope it helps me. I don't think I'll get a rank above 15k

State ranks wont help me either as my mom teaches at the local NIT and I am absolutely not going to any college where my mother is a professor.:p

Either way, I'm tweaked.:(
I hope one of BITS or advanced can save me.

Start with spelling it correctly, it's grammar. :)

I think I'm the worst grammar student in the world. :-(

----------

When I started visiting here regularly(back in last summer) I was a newbie English speaker and had very little knowledge of English. Later I went reading many of the posts in nearly all the sections, tried posting in clean English and avoided spelling mistakes(those red lines under words helps a lot) and it did the trick. Now I can write good enough English and can speak as good as writing.

In school, when your teacher teaches you anything related grammar then don't just solve the homework based on it but try attempting it in real life. Follow either oral way or written way. One that I followed first was writing(here and on other networks) which brought much better confidence before oral communication in English. So apply everything that you learn don't just mug up.

You've given me a good advice. Thanks mate!
